The Kenyan Women's Premier League is the top tier women's football league in the Kenyan football league system. It is controlled by the Football Kenya Federation.
Women's association football, usually known as women's football or women's soccer, is the most prominent team sport played by women around the globe. It is played at the professional level in numerous countries throughout the world and 176 national teams participate internationally.
The Football Kenya Federation is the governing body of football in Kenya. It was founded in 2011 and was recognised by FIFA, CAF and CECAFA in 2012, replacing Football Kenya Limited. The FKF organises the Kenyan Premier League, the Kenyan Women's Premier League, FKF Division One and the Kenya national football team. It is headed by Nick Mwendwa.
Matuu clinched the title on 6 October 2012 after being awarded a walkover away at Kamaliza Eaglets, [5] who are to be relegated at the end of the season with Sotik Super Stars. Millicent Mwanzi of third-placed Old Is Gold took the Golden Boot having scored the league best of 31 goals.
A walkover, also W.O. or w/o is the awarding of a victory to a contestant because there are no other contestants or the other contestants have been disqualified or have forfeited. The term can apply in sport but also to elections, when it is also referred to as winning "by default". The word is used more generally by extension, particularly in politics, for a contest in which the winner is not the only participant but has little or no competition. The narrow and extended meanings of "walkover" as a single word are both found from 1829.
