The 2012 TTA – Racing Elite League season was the only season of the new Racing Elite League run by the Touring Car Team Association. The championship was formed as a breakaway from the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship. Following the season, the two series announced their reunification, under the STCC name but with the TTA technical regulations. Rickard Rydell is a retired Swedish racing driver. He won the 1998 British Touring Car Championship, the 2011 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship, and has also been a frontrunner in the European/World Touring Car Championship.
Fredrik Ekblom is a Swedish race car driver from Kumla. After an early career in single-seaters he switched to touring car racing where he won multiple titles in his native Swedish Touring Car Championship and later in the TTA – Racing Elite League.
Flash Engineering is a Swedish motorsport team based in Karlstad founded and owned by Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) winner Jan "Flash" Nilsson. The most recent time the team won the STCC-title was in 2008 with driver Richard Göransson. Flash Engineering was affiliated with Volvo until 2005, when Nilsson sold the team to Christian Dahl, and reincorporated it as a new, independent racing team, running BMW and Porsche cars.
The 2010 Swedish Touring Car Championship season was the 15th and last Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) season. Four of the race weekends were held together with the Danish Touring Car Championship and the results from these races also counted towards the Scandinavian Touring Car Cup. From 2011, the new Scandinavian Touring Car Championship replaced both the Swedish and the Danish Touring Car Championships.

TTA – Racing Elite League was a Swedish Touring Car Championship started in 2012, founded by four of the biggest teams in Swedish Touring Car racing; Polestar Racing, Flash Engineering, WestCoast Racing and Brovallen Design in 2011. TTA works with the Swedish Automobile Sports Federation and the race car is developed by the French motorsport company Solution-F. The car is a silhouette, where by the chassis and powertrain are standardized and custom-built for racing and where the body is molded from composite material to mimic a normal car.

The 2015 TCR International Series was the inaugural season of the TCR International Series, a motor racing championship for touring cars held across Asia and Europe. The season began at Sepang on 28 March and finished on 22 November at the Guia Circuit in Macau.

Thed Björk entered the season as the defending drivers' champion and successfully defended his title. Volvo Polestar Racing will be the defending teams' champion. Both Björk and Volvo Polestar Racing retained their titles after the season.
Cyan Racing is the official motorsport partner to Geely Group Motorsport, formerly the Volvo factory auto racing team, and runs the FIA WTCR programme for Lynk & Co, based in Gothenburg, Sweden. PWR Racing is a Swedish auto racing team owned by racing drivers Peter Wallenberg, Jr. and Daniel Haglöf. It currently competes in the TCR Scandinavia Touring Car Championship, the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia, and the World Touring Car Cup.

The season started at Ring Knutstorp on 4 May and ended at Mantorp Park on 5 October, after six rounds across Sweden.
Daniel Haglöf is Swedish auto racing driver who currently competes in the World Touring Car Cup and is co-founder of PWR Racing. He previously competed mainly in his native Sweden including the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship and Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia.
