The 2013 World Military Cup take part in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan. The Tournament is also known as CISM World Football Trophy. [1] It's the first edition of the new format in additional to the Military World Championship.

The 2012 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup was the third edition of the women's football tournament, and was held in Azerbaijan from 22 September to 13 October, following a decision by the executive committee on 19 March 2010. Defending champions South Korea failed to qualify for the tournament. France won the title after defeating North Korea 1–1.

The Azerbaijan Cup 2010–11 is the 19th season of the annual cup competition in Azerbaijan. It started on 26 October 2010 with four games of the Premiliary Round and will end in May 2011 with the final held at Tofik Bakhramov Stadium in Baku. FK Baku are the defending champions. Twenty-two teams are scheduled to compete in this year's competition. The winners will receive a berth in the second qualifying round of the 2011–12 UEFA Europa League.

The teams competing in Group 8 of the 2013 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying competition were Azerbaijan, Belgium, England, Iceland, and Norway.

Bayil Arena is a stadium in Bayil, Baku, Azerbaijan. It was opened in 2012 and has a capacity of 3,200 spectators. The stadium is owned and operated by AFFA. Yalchin Mammadov is a current stadium manager.

2013 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship elite round was the second round of qualifications for the final tournament of UEFA U-17 Championship 2013. The 28 teams advancing from the qualifying round were distributed into seven groups of four teams each, with each group contesting in a round-robin format, with one of the four teams hosting all six group games. The seven group-winning teams automatically qualified for the final tournament in Slovakia.

The 2016 UEFA European Under-17 Championship was the 15th edition of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship, the annual European international youth football championship contested by the men's under-17 national teams of UEFA member associations. Azerbaijan, which were selected by UEFA on 20 March 2012, hosted the tournament between 5 and 21 May 2016.
