The 2014-15 Boa Vista Island League season was the competition of the second-tier football in the island of Boa Vista, Cape Verde. Its started on 10 January and finished on 26 April 2015. The championships were organized by the Boa Vista Regional Football Association (Associação Regional de Futebol da Boa Vista, ARFBV). [1] Académica Operária won the 19th title and participated into the 2015 Cape Verdean Football Championships, it was also the recent title won by the club.

Académica Operária again was the defending team of the title. A total of 8 clubs participated in the competition [2] [3] and a total of 166 goals were scored.

Associação Académica e Operária da Boa Vista is a sports club that its football (soccer) team had played in the Premier division and plays in the Boa Vista Island South Zone Division in Cape Verde. It is based in the island capital of Sal Rei in the island of Boa Vista and plays with Boa Vista's teams in the same stadium. Apart from football (soccer) there are also in the club basketball, volleyball and athletics departments.

Runner up was África Show which was their best position for the club.

Overview

The biggest win was Juventude Norte who defeated Estância Baixo 1-8 away on April 26 which was the last round.

África Show took the lead in the first week, Académica Operária took it for the rest of the season.

Again Académica Operária scored the most goals numbering 33, 10% more than last season. Estância Baixo again scored the least numbering 10. Académica conceded fewer goals than last season and the most numbering 7. Estância Baixo conceded the most numbering 50, second was Juventude from Norte.

The second week of March was the only time that the championship took a break for the regional cup competitions.

Participating clubs

Desportivo Estância Baixo is a sports club for a football (soccer) team that plays in the Boa Vista Island League in Cape Verde. The team is based in the settlement of Estância de Baixo in the island of Boa Vista and receives assistance from the local government. The club area includes the south of the island, especially Curral Velho. The team has never won any title.

Onze Estrelas Boa Vista or Onze Estrelas Clube de Bofareira is a football (soccer) club that currently plays in the Campeonato Nacional de Cabo Verde and in the Boa Vista Island League in Cape Verde. It is based on the island of Boa Vista and plays in the stadium with a capacity of 1,000 though the village they play is for Bofareira. Its current manager is Tó Monteiro.

Cape Verdean Football Federation

The Cape Verdean Football Federation is the governing body of football in Cape Verde. It was founded in 1982, affiliated to FIFA in 1986 and to CAF in 2000. It organizes the national football league and the national team.

Sport Sal Rei Club is a sports club that its football (soccer) team had played in the Premier division and plays in the Boa Vista Island South Zone Division in Cape Verde. The winner of the championship plays in the Cape Verdean football Championships of each season.It is organized by the Boa Vista Regional Football Association. Since 2010, it has the largest regional football association governing body in area in the nation.

The 2005 Cape Verdean Football Championship season was the 26th of the competition of the first-tier football in Cape Verde. Its started on 14 May and finished on 16 July, earlier than the last season. The tournament was organized by the Cape Verdean Football Federation. FC Derby won the 3rd title and did not receive entry to the 2006 CAF Champions League. No second place club would also receive entry to the 2006 CAF Confederation Cup

The 2009 Cape Verdean Football Championship season was the 30th of the competition of the first-tier football in Cape Verde. Its started on 16 April, earlier than the last season and finished on 11 June. The tournament was organized by the Cape Verdean Football Federation. Sporting would win their 8th title and fourth straight after defeating the city's rival Académica. This was the first final competition that featured two clubs from the same island as well as the same city, it happened the following season with Boavista. Sporting Praia's next and final title would win in 2012.

The 2012 Cape Verdean Football Championship season was the 33rd of the competition of the first-tier football in Cape Verde. Its started on 5 May and finished on 7 July, slightly earlier than last year. The tournament was organized by the Cape Verdean Football Federation. Sporting Praia won the ninth title, it would be the club's most recent title win. This time, Sporting Praia did not participate in the 2013 CAF Champions League. No club also participated in the 2013 CAF Confederation Cup. In 2012, Sporting Praia won the first super cup title and would become the first club to win both the championship and the super cup title in the same season.

The 2015 Cape Verdean Football Championship season was the 36th beginner level competition of the first-tier football in Cape Verde. Its started on 9 May and finished on 11 July. The tournament was organized by the Cape Verdean Football Federation. The schedule including its matches were created on Saturday January 10. CS Mindelense won the eleventh title and became the second club after Sporting Praia to win three in a row. Neither clubs participated in the CAF Champions League competition in 2016 and in the 2016 CAF Confederation Cup. This was the second ever and most recent finals competition that two clubs came from the same island as well as the same city.

The 2013-14 Sal Island League season was the competition of the second-tier football in the island of Sal, Cape Verde. It started on 18 January and finished on 29 March 2014. The tournament was organized by the Sal Regional Football Association. Sport Clube Verdun won their second and recent title and qualified into the 2014 Cape Verdean Football Championships, their next in more than thirty years and the first in Group Stage. SC Verdun of Pedra de Lume won their second and recent title and finished with 20 points, a point difference from Académico do Aeroporto. Also Verdun had its best season results to date, in the following two seasons, the club did not reach the highest positions in the island.

The 1999 Cape Verdean Football Championship season was the 20th of the competition of the first-tier football in Cape Verde. The tournament was organized by the Cape Verdean Football Federation. GD Amarantes won their first and only title. Sporting Clube da Praia would be the only time that a non-winning title would participate in the 2000 CAF Champions League, the criteria for qualification was not continued. No club took part in the 2000 CAF Winners' Cup.

The 2014–15 Maio Island League season was the 24th of the competition of the second-tier football in the island of Maio, Cape Verde. Its started on 1 February and finished on 12 April 2014. The tournament was organized by the Maio Regional Football Association. Académica da Calheta won the 3rd title.

The 2015-16 Fogo Island League season was the competition of the second and third tier football in the island of Fogo, Cape Verde. Its started on 7 November 2014 and finished on 24 April 2015. The tournament was organized by the Fogo Regional Football Association. Vulcânicos won the ninth title and competed in the Cape Verdean National Championships in mid-May.

The championships were organized by the Boa Vista Regional Football Association. Sport Sal Rei Club won the 10th title, it was also the club's second straight, Sal Rei qualified into the 2017 Cape Verdean Football Championships and placed in Group C.

The 2017–18 Boa Vista Island League season was the competition of the second-tier football in the island of Boa Vista, Cape Verde. Its started early on December 9 and finished early on March 25. The championships were organized by the Boa Vista Regional Football Association. Sport Sal Rei Club won their 11th title, it was also the club's third straight, Sal Rei qualified into the 2017 Cape Verdean Football Championships and placed in Group A.

The 2010 Cape Verdean Cup season was the 4th competition of the regional football cup in Cape Verde. The season started on 20 July and finished with the cup final on 2 August. The cup competition was organized by the Cape Verdean Football Federation. Boavista Praia won their last of two cup titles. A month later, they would also win a championship title, currently the only club to win both a cup and a championship title.

The 2012 Cape Verdean Cup season was the 5th competition of the regional football cup in Cape Verde. The season started on 11 August and finished with the cup final on 24 August. The cup competition was organized by the Cape Verdean Football Federation. Maio's Onze Unidos won their only title.
