The 2014–15 São Vicente Island League season was the 77th (39th since independence) of the competition of the second-tier football in the island of São Vicente, Cape Verde. [1] Its started on 17 January and finished on 26 April 2015. The tournament was organized by the São Vicente Regional Football Association (Associação Regional de São Vicente de Futebol, ARSVF). [2] CS Mindelense won the 47th title, as they were national champions in the previous season, Derby as second place qualified into the 2015 Cape Verdean Football Championships a few weeks later in May, later they qualified into the regional Super Cup as champion, as Mindelense won the cup title, they challenged Amarante, runner-up in the cup competition.

Cape Verde or Cabo Verde, officially the Republic of Cabo Verde, is an island country spanning an archipelago of 10 volcanic islands in the central Atlantic Ocean. It forms part of the Macaronesia ecoregion, along with the Azores, Canary Islands, Madeira, and the Savage Isles. In ancient times these islands were referred to as "the Islands of the Blessed" or the "Fortunate Isles". Located 570 kilometres (350 mi) west of the Cape Verde Peninsula off the coast of Northwest Africa, the islands cover a combined area of slightly over 4,000 square kilometres (1,500 sq mi).
Its chairman was Benvindo Leston, his post would be replaced by Júlio do Rosario in the following season.
FC Derby was the defending team of the title. Académica and Salamansa. A total of 14 clubs participated in the competition, 8 in the Premier Division and 6 in the Second Division.
Futebol Clube Derby is a football club that had played in the Premier division and the São Vicente Island League in Cape Verde and is Cape Verde's only affiliate of FC Porto and the oldest affiliate in the whole of Africa. It is based in the city of Mindelo on the island of São Vicente. It is the second team of the regional league who won the most titles after independence especially in the 1960s and the 1970s. Its current president is Carlos Alberto Lopes and its coach is Yoya who became in May 2017. The club name is the Dragons or Dragões, the same as Porto's slogan. Since 30 April 2017, they are one of three unrelegated clubs in the island along with Batuque and Mindelense.
Associação Académica do Mindelo is a football club that had played in the Premier division and the São Vicente Island League in Cape Verde. It is based in the city of Mindelo on the island of São Vicente and plays in a stadium with a capacity of 5,000. The club is an affiliate of the Portuguese club Académica de Coimbra. It is one of the first teams ever to win a provincial title before independence, in 1953, a year later. There was no further competition until 1956. Académica won their first title since independence in 1989. Other titles includes four for the island including their recent 2006/07 season win and two opening tournaments along with their recent win.
Mindelense scored 9 over Ribeira Bote on April 5 and made it the highest point scored by Mindelense in the season, one of the highest scores that remains today. Mindelense also was number one the whole season and finished with 38 points and also scored the most number of goals numbering 26. Académica do Mindelo defeated Castilho 6-1 in the first promotion match, the second match was 3 apiece and Académica did not relegated.
There were no competition on the second week of February due to the regional cup competitions.

The Cape Verdean Football Championship or the Campeonato Caboverdiano de Futebol is a football competition that was created in 1976 in Cape Verde. A local championship was founded in 1953 before independence, when the islands were still part of the Portuguese Empire.
The São Vicente Island or Regional Premier Division is a regional championship played in São Vicente Island, Cape Verde. The championship is organized by the São Vicente Regional Football Association. The winner of the championship plays in Cape Verdean football Championships of each season. In 1989, 2012, 2015, 2016 and 2017, a second place club participated in the national championships, Académica do Mindelo in 1989, Mindelense in 2014 and FC Derby in 2015 and in 2016 and will be for 2017. The 7th place club plays with a Second Division runner-up in a division decisional match to decide on promoting or remain in the Second Division. The last placed club relegated into the São Vicente Second Division. Up to around 2010, only a club was relegated into that division.
Batuque Futebol Clube is a football club that plays in the São Vicente Island League in Cape Verde. It is based in the city of Mindelo on the island of São Vicente. Its current president is Jota who became first president in around the mid 2000s. Its nickname is Panteras (Panthers) which is also Portugal's Boavista F.C. nickname, the club is not an affilaite to that club. Since 30 April 2017, they are one of three unrelegated clubs in the island along with Derby and Mindelense.

The cup tournament is organized by the São Vicente Regional Football Association .The cup winner competed in the regional super cup final in the following season. For several seasons, the winner qualified into Cape Verdean Cup which has been cancelled due to financial and scheduling reasons.

It started on 16 January and finished on 25 April 2015, each a day earlier than last season. The tournament was organized by the São Vicente Regional Football Association. CS Mindelense won the 48 th title, as they were national champions in the previous season, once again Derby as second place qualified into the 2016 Cape Verdean Football Championships a few weeks later in May. Mindelense also qualified into the regional Super Cup competition which was held on October 8.
The São Vicente Association Cup, then known as the São Vicente Opening Tournament is an association cup played during the season in the island of São Vicente, Cape Verde. The competition is organized by the São Vicente Regional Football Association. Until 2009, it featured 9 rounds and the club met once. When the second division was introduced to the São Vicente Island League in 2009, the Opening Tournament became the Association Cup and featured two divisions. It currently consists of seven rounds, a meeting with another club once. The winner with the most points is the winner.

The island of São Vicente in Cape Verde in the westcentral portion of the Barlavento Islands is home to several teams and clubs. The major professional clubs are CS Mindelense, FC Derby, Académica do Mindelo, Batuque FC and Amarante. The island also has a league named the São Vicente Island League, it is the oldest in Cape Verde, first it only had football, later it had basketball, volleyball, athletics and now futsal.

It started on 13 May and finished on 27 August, it started a days later than last season. Originally to finish on 15 July, instead, it was rescheduled to 27 August. The championship was governed by the Cape Verdean Football Federation.
The 2017–18 São Vicente Island Championships season was the 89th of the competition of the second and third tiers of football in the island of São Vicente, Cape Verde. The Premier Division started on 9 December 2017 and finished on 25 March 2018. The championships were organized and governed by the São Vicente Regional Football Association. CS Mindelense won the 50th title and later qualified into the 2018 Cape Verdean Football Championships on April 7. Mindelense will qualify into the regional Super Cup as champion later in the year and will face the cup winner Batuque.
