The 2015 African Women's Youth Handball Championship was the 4th edition of the tournament, organized by the African Handball Confederation, under the auspices of the International Handball Federation and held in Nairobi, Kenya from July 2 to 9, 2015. [1]
Egypt won their first title. The top three teams qualified for the 2016 world championship.

Kenyatta University (KU) is a public research university with its main campus in Nairobi. It acquired the status of university in 1985, being the third university after University of Nairobi (1970) and Moi University (1984). As of October 2014, it was one of 23 public universities in the country.
The Kenya national rugby union team, commonly known as the Simbas, is the country's national team managed by the Kenya Rugby Union. The team plays in red, green, and black jerseys with black or white shorts. The Simbas represent Kenya in the Africa Cup and various other tournaments across the continent. They currently rank thirty-third in the World Rugby Rankings and fourth in Africa. Kenya is yet to qualify for the Rugby World Cup.
The International Handball Federation (IHF) is the administrative and controlling body for handball and beach handball. IHF is responsible for the organisation of handball's major international tournaments, notably the IHF World Men's Handball Championship, which commenced in 1938, and the IHF World Women's Handball Championship, which commenced in 1957.

At continental level, it competes at the African Women's Junior Handball Championship which qualifies for the IHF Women's Junior World Championship. Angola has been a member of the IHF since 1979.
The 2015 IHF Men's Junior World Championship was the 20th edition of the tournament and held at Brazil from 19 July to 1 August 2015. The decision to select Brazil as the host was announced 1 August 2014. France won their first title by defeating Denmark 26–24 in the final.
The 2015 Men's Youth World Handball Championship was the sixth edition of the IHF Men's Youth World Championship, held in Yekaterinburg, Russia from 7 to 20 August 2015. France won their first title by defeating Slovenia 33–26 in the final.
Agnes Jebet Tirop was a Kenyan professional long-distance runner. She won bronze medals in the 10,000 metres at the 2017 and 2019 World Athletics Championships. At the 2015 IAAF World Cross Country Championships, Tirop became the second-youngest ever gold medallist in the women's race, after Zola Budd. At the time of her death in 2021, she was the world-record holder in the 10 kilometres women's-only event.
The 2015 African Women's Junior Handball Championship was the 22nd edition of the African Women's Junior Handball Championship. The event, organized by the African Handball Confederation, under the supervision of the International Handball Federation, took place at the Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi, Kenya, from July 11 to 18 2015. Six teams participated on the tournament. Angola, successfully defended its title after tying the last game with Tunisia. While both teams finished with 11 points, Angola had an edge in the goal difference.
Rosefline Chepngetich is a Kenyan steeplechase runner. She holds a personal best of 9:35.75 minutes for the 3000 metres steeplechase and is ranked third on the all-time youth lists for the 2000 m steeplechase distance.
The Kenyan Cross Country Championships is an annual cross country running competition that serves as the national championship for Kenya. It is organised by Athletics Kenya and has permit race status from the International Association of Athletics Federations. It is typically held in February in Nairobi, the country's capital, and entrants are almost exclusively from Kenya. Entrants represent their home region or one of the high level national works teams, such as Kenya Defence Forces, Kenya Police, Prisons or Universities. These teams host their own annual team championships in order to decide their selections for the national event.
The women's handball tournament of the 1987 All-Africa Games were held in August 1987, in Nairobi, Kenya, contested by 8 national teams and won by Ivory Coast.
The 2017 IAAF World U18 Championships was the tenth and last edition of the biennial international athletics competition for youth (under-18) athletes. The five-day competition took place between 12 and 16 July at the Moi International Sports Centre in Nairobi, Kenya. Eligible athletes were aged 16 or 17 on 31 December 2017.
