Wilfrid Laurier University is a public university in Ontario, Canada, with campuses in Waterloo, Brantford and Milton. The newer Brantford and Milton campuses are not considered satellite campuses of the original Waterloo campus; instead the university describes itself as a "multi-campus multi-community university". The university also operates offices in Kitchener, Toronto, and Yellowknife.
The 2012 CIS/CCA Curling Championships were held from March 14 to 18 at the Welland Curling Club in Welland, Ontario. The host university of the event was Brock University, located in nearby St. Catharines. The winners of the event, the teams from the University of Alberta and from Wilfrid Laurier University skipped by Brendan Bottcher and Laura Crocker, respectively, will go on to represent Canada at the 2013 Winter Universiade in Trentino, Italy.
Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) and the CCA combined to host the first national curling championship hosted by the University of Waterloo. It was held from March 12 to 16, 2008 at the Guelph Curling Club and Elora Curling Club.
The 2013 CIS/CCA Curling Championships were held from March 20 to 24 at the Kamloops Curling Club in Kamloops, British Columbia. The host university of the event was Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops.
Laura Walker is a Canadian curler from Edmonton, Alberta. She is a two-time Canadian University champion, a national junior champion, world junior silver medallist and world mixed doubles bronze medallist. Walker is originally from Scarborough, Ontario.
The 2013 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Trials was held from March 14 to 17 at the Leduc Recreation Centre and the Leduc Curling Club in Leduc, Alberta. The winning team of the trials will represent Canada at the 2013 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship. It is the first ever Canadian Mixed Doubles championship. Previously, two players from the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship winning team were selected to play at the World Mixed Doubles championship.
The 2014 CIS/CCA Curling Championships was held from March 19 to 23 at the Callie Curling Club in Regina, Saskatchewan. The host university of the event was the University of Regina. The winners represented Canada at the 2015 Winter Universiade in Granada, Spain.
Jake Walker is a Canadian curler originally from Minden, Ontario. He is a former Canadian Junior champion, and world junior bronze medallist.
Aaron John Squires is a Canadian curler from St. Thomas, Ontario. He formerly played on the World Curling Tour.
The 2015 Canadian Senior Curling Championships was held from March 21 to 28 at the Thistle Curling Club in Edmonton, Alberta. The winners represented Canada at the 2016 World Senior Curling Championships.
The 2016 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship was held from November 7 to 14, 2015 at the Weston Golf & Country Club in Toronto, Ontario. The winning Alberta team represented Canada at the 2016 World Mixed Curling Championship.
The U Sports East–West Bowl is an annual preseason Canadian university football all-star game which showcases the top U Sports football prospects in the country who will be eligible for the following year's CFL Draft. The East–West Bowl is organized by the Canadian University Football Coaches Association (CUFCA) with the support of the Canadian Football League (CFL). It brings together over 90 of the top U Sports football players for a week of practices and evaluation, culminating with the annual all-star game. A national committee of U Sports head coaches selects the participants from a pool of players nominated by their respective universities. Players who are generally in their third year of eligibility are the prime candidates for nomination. Every U Sports football program is represented by a minimum of three and a maximum of four players who will be eligible for the CFL draft the following year. Each school submits a list of six players they nominate. A committee of U Sports coaches and CFL representatives review the nominations and determine who gets invited.
The 2016 CIS/CCA Curling Championships are held from March 20 to 23 at the Kelowna Curling Club in Kelowna, British Columbia. The host university of the event is UBC Okanagan. The winning teams will also represent Canada at the 2017 Winter Universiade in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Jennifer Gates is a Canadian curler from Sudbury, Ontario. Gates is a two-time Canadian university champion and a two-time Northern Ontario provincial champion.
Richard Frederick Krell is a Canadian curler from Canmore, Alberta. He currently plays third on Team Jeff Richard.
Chelsea Brandwood is a Canadian curler from St. Catharines, Ontario. She currently skips a team on the World Curling Tour. Her hometown is Beamsville, Ontario.
John Willsey is a Canadian curler from Orillia, Ontario. He currently skips his own team out of Oakville, Ontario.
The 2020 U Sports/Curling Canada University Curling Championships were held from March 11 to 15, 2020 at Stride Place in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. The winning teams on both the men's and women's sides will also represent Canada at the 2021 Winter Universiade in Lucerne, Switzerland.
Lauren Wasylkiw is a Canadian curler originally from Kleinburg, Ontario. She was the second for Team Newfoundland and Labrador at the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
The 2023 U Sports/Curling Canada University Championships were held from March 15 to 19 at the Gerry McCrory Countryside Sports Complex in Sudbury, Ontario. The host university of the event was Laurentian University. Sudbury was originally scheduled to host the 2022 edition of the event, however, it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Ontario. The event was held in conjunction with the 2023 CCAA/Curling Canada College Curling Championships, the Canadian college curling championship.
