The 2015 Nor.Ca. Women's Handball Championship was the first edition of the Nor.Ca. Women's Handball Championship, which took place in Salinas, Puerto Rico from 30 March to 5 April 2015. It acted as the North America e Caribbean qualifying tournament for the 2015 Pan American Women's Handball Championship. [1]

The Puerto Rico women's national handball team represents Puerto Rico in international handball competitions.

The Nor.Ca. Women's Handball Championship is the official competition for women's national handball teams in North America and Caribbean. In addition to crowning the Nor.Ca. champions, the tournament also served as a qualifying tournament for the Pan American Handball Championship. Handball competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto will be held from July 16 to 25 at the Direct Energy Centre. Due to naming rights the arena will be known as the latter for the duration of the games. A total of eight men's and women's teams will compete in each respective tournament.

‌The 2021 Nor.Ca. Women's Handball Championship was the fourth edition of the championship, held from 22 to 27 August 2021 at Elgin, United States under the aegis of North America and Caribbean Handball Confederation. It was the first time in history that the championship is organised by the USA Team Handball. It also acted as the qualification tournament for the 2021 World Women's Handball Championship, with the top team from the championship directly qualifying for the event to be held in Spain. The tournament was held behind closed doors, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Mexican Handball Federation is the administrative and controlling body for handball and beach handball in Mexico. FMHB is a member of the North America and Caribbean Handball Confederation (NACHC) and member of the International Handball Federation (IHF) since 1970.

The 2023 IHF Trophy U17 – North America and the Caribbean took place in Salinas, Puerto Rico, from 2 to 6 December 2023. It acted as the North America and Caribbean qualifying tournament for the 2024 Women's Youth World Handball Championship and 2024 IHF Inter-Continental Trophy. After winning all their games, Guadeloupe won the competition.

The 2023 IHF Trophy U19 – North America and the Caribbean took place in Mexico City, Mexico, from 9 to 13 December 2023. It acted as the North America and Caribbean qualifying tournament for the 2024 Women's Junior World Handball Championship and 2024 IHF Inter-Continental Trophy.
