Myanmar National League Football league

The MPT Myanmar National League is the premier national professional football league of Myanmar. In 2009, the league replaced the Myanmar Premier League, which consisted only of 14 Yangon-based football clubs, with eight professional clubs representing different regions across the nation. On 16 May 2009, the league launched its inaugural two-month tournament, the Myanmar National League Cup 2009 in preparation for the first full season in 2010. Despite its national ambitions, the league held the MNL Cup 2009 matches in the country's two main stadiums in Yangon due to the lack of adequate facilities elsewhere. On 5 July 2009, Yadanabon FC defeated Yangon United FC in the MNL Cup final to become the first-ever MNL Champions.

Sithu Aung is a Burmese professional footballer who plays as midfielder for Myanmar national football team and Yadanarbon. He has played much of his career as a left-back, he has also been used as a winger. Aged 13, Sithu Aung joined the youth team of Yangon United, for whom he made his professional debut in 2012 at the age of 16. He got MNL champion 2 times and played AFC Cup 3 time in 2012, 2013 and 2014. He spent three season at Yangon United club, before moving to Yadanarbon FC for undisclosed fee in the 2014 MNL transfer window and making him the third Yangon United player to join the club in 18 months.

The MNL-2 is the second-tier football league of Myanmar. The official name is MNL-2 League. The inaugural season began in 2013.

The 2014 MNL-2 New Holland League is the second edition of MNL-2. The first round of the season began on 1 February and ended on 28 March. The schedule for the second round will be released after completion of the first round. The two guest teams taking part in MNL-2 will not be qualified to either MNL or MFF Cup.

It is the league cup competition started in 2015 Myanmar football season. This cup succeeded the Myanmar Football Federation Cup. MFF has changed the cup competition style as follows.

The MNL-2 2016 is the Myanmar National League's fourth full regular season. Four new clubs will join in 2016 MNL-2. There are Mahar United Football Club, United of Thanlyin Football Club, Thihadeepa United Football Club and City Stars Football Club. 2016 MNL-2 will start on 15 January. New clubs must play a qualifying round. Only three clubs will qualify to play in MNL-2.

Thihadeepa United FC is a Burmese football club, based at Thanlyin, Yangon. 2016 MNL-2 season is their first time MNL pro season. Thihadeepa is a University team and play in MNL-2. Thihadeepa teams retired the number 12 for their supporters.

United of Thanlyin Football Club(Burmese: သန္လ်င္ယူႏိုက္တက္ ေဘာလုံးအသင္း) is a Burmese football club, founded in 2015. This is the first time MNL-2 season of United of Thanlyin FC.

Royal Thanlyin Football Club(Burmese: ေတာ္၀င္သန္လ်င္ ဘောလုံးအသင်း) is a Burmese football club, founded in 2015. This is the third MNL-2 season of Royal Thanlyin FC. City Stars FC changed their name to Royal Thanlyin and based on Thanlyin, Yangon.

The 2018 Myanmar National League, also known as the 2018 MPT Myanmar National League, is the 9th season of the Myanmar National League, the top Burmese professional league for association football clubs since its founding in 2009. The departure of the two clubs from the MNL-1 disrupted the previous season. More disruption came when Nay Pyi Taw and City Yangon withdrew from the competition towards the end of the 2017 season. At an emergency meeting of the MNL committee on September 12, Nay Pyi Taw was expelled from the league after its players complained of not having been paid since April. The expulsion came after players boycotted a game in early September. An unsuccessful coup attempt in Turkey in July last year created a crisis for City Yangon that forced its departure from the MNL. It was a big disappointment for the club, which won the 2017 MNL-2 championship to end the season undefeated. MNL-2 third-place winners Myawady FC were promoted along with runners-up Sagaing United to the 2018 Myanmar National League.

Sagaing United F.C. Football club

Sagaing United Football Club is a Burmese football club, based at Monywa Stadium in Monywa, Myanmar and represents the Sagaing Region. The club was founded in 2015 and played in the 2016 MNL-2 season. The team's first competitive season in the Myanmar National League debuted in 2018. Due to a promotion in transition to the Myanmar National League, the team's name has changed from "Mahar United" to "Sagaing United".

The 2018 National League 2, also known as the 2018 MPT Myanmar National League 2, is the 6th season of the MNL-2, the second division league for association football clubs since its founding in 2012. At the end of the 2017 MNL-2, City Yangon F.C. won the MNL-2 title. And then, City Yangon F.C. and Sagaing United promoted to 2018 Myanmar National League. But City Yangon F.C. quit from Myanmar National League. So, Myawady FC auto promoted to 2018 Myanmar National League. City Yangon F.C. and Chin United F.C. abandoned their clubs. In 2018 National League 2, there is only seven will play for MNL-2 winner.

The 2019 Myanmar National League is the 10th season of the Myanmar National League, the top Myanmar professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 2009, also known as MPT Myanmar National League due to the sponsorship deal with Myanma Posts and Telecommunications. A total of 12 teams will compete in the league. The season began on 12 January 2019 and is scheduled to conclude on 24 September 2019.

The 2019 National League 2, also known as the 2019 MPT Myanmar National League 2, is the 7th season of the MNL-2, the second division league for association football clubs since its founding in 2012. At the end of the 2018 MNL-2, Royal Thanlyin won the MNL-2 title. After 2018 MNL-2 finished, Royal Thanlyin and Dagon FC promoted to 2019 Myanmar National League. Chin United will play again in 2019 MNL-2.

The 2020 National League 2, also known as the 2020 MPT Myanmar National League 2, is the 8th season of the MNL-2, the second division league for association football clubs since its founding in 2012. 3 months after being temporarily cancelled, it got PERMANENTLY cancelled.
