The Men's points race event of the 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Championships was held on 4 March 2016. [1] [2] Jonathan Dibben of Great Britain won the gold medal.
The 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Championships were the World Championships for track cycling in 2016. They took place in London in the Lee Valley VeloPark from 2–6 March 2016.
Jonathan Dibben is a British racing cyclist, who last rode for UCI WorldTeam Team Sky. He rode at the 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. At the 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Championships he won a gold medal in the points race and a silver medal in the team pursuit event.

The first race of its kind was the London–Surrey Cycle Classic, on 14 August 2011, a 1.2 classification 140 km preparatory event for the 2012 Summer Olympics, which was won by sprinter Mark Cavendish. The men's and women's Olympic road races were held on a longer variation of the same course the following year.
