- 2016–17 NBA season, this was Kevin Durant's first season with the Golden State Warriors. Russell Westbrook won his lone regular season MVP award.
- 2017–18 NBA season, this was LeBron James’ final season as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. James Harden won his lone regular season MVP award. This season also was the last of four consecutive Finals matchups between Golden State and Cleveland.
Both seasons featured the Golden State Warriors defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.
