The America East Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I whose members are located in the Northeastern United States.
The Stony Brook Seawolves are the athletic teams of Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York, United States. The school competes at the Division I level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and joined the all-sports Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) on July 1, 2022 after having been a member of the CAA's technically separate football arm of CAA Football since 2013. The official colors of the Seawolves are red, grey, and blue.

Stony Brook currently competes in the CAA and plays its home games on Joe Nathan Field. Matt Senk has coached the team since the beginning of the 1991 season. The team has won the America East tournament six times in 2004, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2015, and 2019. In 2011, the Seawolves claimed their first America East regular season championship. Stony Brook has participated in the NCAA tournament on six separate occasions, winning its first game in 2010.

LaValle Stadium in Stony Brook, New York. The winner of the tournament received the America East Conference's automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship. Four teams from the America East conference will compete in the single elimination tournament. The seeds were based upon the teams' regular season conference record.

The Albany Great Danes are the defending tournament champions, after defeating the Hartford Hawks 2–1 in the championship match for the program's first league title.

The five-match tournament took place at campus sites, with the higher seed hosting. The defending champions were the Albany Great Danes, but they were eliminated from the 2017 tournament with a 2–1 loss in the quarterfinals to the Vermont Catamounts. The Stony Brook Seawolves won the tournament with a 2–1 victory over the Vermont Catamounts in the final. The conference tournament title was the second for the Stony Brook women's soccer program and the first for head coach Brendan Faherty.

The defending champions were the Albany Great Danes, who were unable to defend their title after losing in the Quarterfinals to Hartford. Stony Brook won their second tournament in three years after a 2–1 victory in the final. It was the first victory for first year head coach Tobias Bischof.

The five-match tournament took place at campus sites, with the higher seed hosting. The defending champions were the Stony Brook Seawolves, who were unable to defend their title after not qualifying for the tournament. Vermont won their first tournament in program history after a 1–0 victory in the final. It was the first victory for eleventh year head coach Kristi Huizenga. As tournament champions, Vermont earned the America East's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament.
The 2021–22 America East Conference men's basketball season started non-conference play on November 9, 2021, and began conference play on January 2, 2022. The regular season ended on March 1, 2022, followed by the 2022 America East men's basketball tournament held March 6–12, 2022. The Vermont Catamounts finished atop conference standings and also won the conference tournament.

The six-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the New Hampshire, who were unable to defend their title, losing in the Final. Vermont won their first tournament in program history after a 1–0 victory in the final over New Hampshire. It was the sixth victory for the Vermont Catamounts soccer program and the first for Head Coach Rob Dow. As tournament champions, Vermont earned the America East's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament.
The 2022 America East Conference women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the America East Conference held from October 30 through November 6, 2023. The five-match tournament took place at campus sites, with the higher seed hosting. The six-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the Vermont Catamounts, who were unable to defend their title after not qualifying for the tournament. New Hampshire won their second tournament in program history after a penalty shoot-out victory in the final. It was the second victory for ninth year head coach Steve Welham. As tournament champions, New Hampshire earned the America East's automatic berth into the 2022 NCAA Division I women's soccer tournament.
