The 2018 Asian Men's Youth Handball Championship was the 8th edition of the championship held from 16 to 26 September 2018 at Amman (Jordan) under the aegis of Asian Handball Federation. [1] [2] It was the third time in history that championship was organised in Jordan by the Jordan Handball Federation. The top four teams qualified for the 2019 Men's Youth World Handball Championship to be held in Republic of Macedonia. [3]
The draw was held on 28 April 2018 in Amman, Jordan. [4] [5]
Teams were seeded according to the AHF Competition regulations and rankings of the previous edition of the championship. Teams who had not participate in the previous edition were in Pot 4.

The 2009 World Women's Handball Championship was the 19th edition, second to take place outside Europe, of the international championship tournament in women's team sport handball that is governed by the International Handball Federation (IHF). China hosted the event from 5-20 December 2009. Russia successfully contested France in the final, their fourth title.
The 2019 IHF World Women's Handball Championship, the 24th event hosted by the International Handball Federation, was held in Japan from 30 November to 15 December 2019.
The 2015 IHF Men's Junior World Championship was the 20th edition of the tournament and held at Brazil from 19 July to 1 August 2015. The decision to select Brazil as the host was announced 1 August 2014. France won their first title by defeating Denmark 26–24 in the final.
The 2015 IHF Men's Youth World Championship was the 6th edition of the tournament, held in Yekaterinburg, Russian Federation from 7 to 20 August 2015. France won their first title by defeating Slovenia 33–26 in the final.
The 2021 IHF World Men's Handball Championship was the 27th event hosted by the International Handball Federation and held in Egypt from 13 to 31 January 2021.
The 2018 European Women's Handball Championship was held in France in from 29 November to 16 December 2018. It was the first time France hosts the women's tournament. The matches were played in Brest, Montbéliard, Nancy, Nantes and Paris.
The 2021 World Women's Handball Championship, the 25th event by the International Handball Federation, will be held in Spain from 1 to 19 December 2021. On 18 October 2018, at a congress in Doha, Qatar, the IHF announced that the World Championship would be expanded from 24 teams to 32 teams from 2021 onwards. The Netherlands will be the defending champions after winning for the first time in 2019.
The 2020 European Women's Handball Championship was held from 3 to 20 December 2020. The games were played in Herning and Kolding, Denmark.

It will be the first time in history that championship will be organised in Oman by the Oman Handball Association. It also acts as the qualification tournament for the 2019 Men's Junior World Handball Championship. Top three teams from the championship will directly qualify for the Junior World Championship to be held in Spain.
The 2018 Women's Youth World Handball Championship was the seventh edition of the tournament and took place in Kielce, Poland from 7 to 19 August 2018.
The qualification for the 2020 Men's Olympic Handball Tournament assigned quota places to twelve teams: the hosts, the world champion, four continental champions and six teams from the World Olympic qualification tournaments respectively..

The 2018 African Men's Youth Handball Championship was held in Marrakesh, Morocco from 15 to 22 September 2018 at the Prince Moulay Rachid Hall. The top three teams qualified for the 2019 Men's Youth World Handball Championship.
