PBA D-League Aspirant's Cup chronology

The 2018 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup was the first conference of the 2017-18 PBA Developmental League season. It was opened on January 18, 2018, at the Ynares Sports Arena [1] and competed by 13 teams and it was finished on May 1, 2018, where the Zark's Burger - LPU defeated the Che'Lu Bar & Grill in the best-of-three championship series, 2–1, and clinching their first ever title in their franchise.

The conference commenced on February 13. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has been a concern for the league organizers, halting the season opening as a preventive measure against the outbreak. The conference started on March 2 but the league forced indefinite suspension of games nine days later.

Gabriel Banal is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Quezon Huskers of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). He was drafted 22nd overall pick in the 2nd round of the 2014 PBA Draft. After spending time with the GlobalPort Batang Pier, he played in the PBA D-League, the MPBL and the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3 league before returning to the PBA in 2021. He is the son of former basketball player and coach Joel Banal.

Jaycee Carlos Marcelino is a Filipino basketball player for the Zamboanga Master Sardines of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). He was drafted 17th overall pick in the 2nd round of the 2019 PBA draft.

The 2023 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup is the tenth Aspirants' Cup of the PBA D-League, the official minor league basketball organization owned by the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

The 2024 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup is the 11th edition the Aspirants' Cup of the PBA D-League, the Philippine Basketball Association's (PBA) official minor league.
