The 2018 Pan American Women's Youth Handball Championship was the 12th edition of the tournament, held in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina at the CeNARD from 10 to 14 April 2018. It acts as the American qualifying tournament for the 2018 Women's Youth World Handball Championship. [1] [2]

Team qualified to the 2018 Women's Youth World Handball Championship |
Club Atlético River Plate, commonly known as River Plate, is an Argentine professional sports club based in the Núñez neighborhood of Buenos Aires. Founded in 1901, the club is named after the English name for the city's estuary, Río de la Plata. Although many sports are practiced at the club, River Plate is best known for its professional football team, which has won Argentina's Primera División championship a record of 37 times, its latest title in 2021. In 2018, the PATHF was deprived of recognition and the tournament was replaced with the IHF Trophy for North America and the Caribbean, and the South and Central American Women's Youth Handball Championship.

In addition to crowning the Pan American champions, the tournament also served as a qualifying tournament for the Beach Handball World Championships. In 2018, the PATHF folded and the tournament was replaced with the North America & the Caribbean and South & Central American championships.
The South American Cadet Handball Championship is the official competition for Under-17 Men's and Women's national handball teams of South America. In addition to crowning the South American champions, the tournament also serves as a qualifying tournament for the Pan American Under-16 Handball Championship.

It also acted as the qualification tournament for the 2021 World Women's Handball Championship, with the top three teams qualifying.

Paraguay is scheduled to compete at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile from October 20 to November 5, 2023. This was Paraguay's 17th appearance at the Pan American Games, having competed at every edition of the games except 1959 and 1963.
The tournaments of Handball at the 2023 Pan American Games are scheduled to be held from October 21 to November 1, 2023. The venue for the competition is the Gimnasio Polideportivo located in Viña del Mar.
