The 2020 U Sports/Curling Canada University Curling Championships were held from March 11 to 15, 2020 at Stride Place in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. [1] [2] The winning teams on both the men's and women's sides will also represent Canada at the 2021 Winter Universiade in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Contents

The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks skipped by Matthew Hall won the men's division, defeating the Dalhousie Tigers skipped by Matthew Manuel in the final. The team from the Wilfrid Laurier University went a perfect 9–0 throughout the tournament. The Alberta Golden Bears skipped by Karsten Sturmay took the bronze medal with a 11–6 victory over the Guelph Gryphons skipped by 2019 Canadian Under 18 champion skip Dylan Niepage. Sturmay won the championship in 2018 and won a silver medal at the 2019 Winter Universiade.

The Alberta Pandas skipped by Selena Sturmay were the women's champions, defeating the UNB Reds skipped by Justine Comeau in the final. The Sturmay rink won the 2019 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. In the bronze medal game, the Queen's Golden Gaels skipped by the 2016 Canadian Junior Curling Championships skip Mary Fay topped the McMaster Marauders 7–5.

The 2002 Nokia Brier was the Canadian men's curling championship. It was held from March 9 to 17, 2002 at the Pengrowth Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta. <span class="mw-page-title-main">2012 CIS/CCA Curling Championships</span>

The 2012 CIS/CCA Curling Championships were held from March 14 to 18 at the Welland Curling Club in Welland, Ontario. The host university of the event was Brock University, located in nearby St. Catharines. The winners of the event, the teams from the University of Alberta and from Wilfrid Laurier University skipped by Brendan Bottcher and Laura Crocker, respectively, will go on to represent Canada at the 2013 Winter Universiade in Trentino, Italy.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2012 Canadian Junior Curling Championships</span>

The 2012 M&M Meat Shops Canadian Junior Curling Championships were held from February 4 to 12 at the Strathcona Paper Centre and the Napanee & District Curling Club in Napanee, Ontario. The winners, the Albertan teams skipped by Brendan Bottcher and Jocelyn Peterman, represented Canada at the 2012 World Junior Curling Championships in Östersund, Sweden.

The 2013 Canadian Wheelchair Curling Championship was held from March 24 to 31 at the RA Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. Quebec, skipped by Benoit Lessard, won their first Canadian wheelchair title by defeating British Columbia, skipped by Paralympian Gary Cormack.

The men's tournament of the 2014 M&M Meat Shops Canadian Junior Curling Championships was held from January 18 to 26 at the Queens Place Emera Centre and the Liverpool Curling Club.

The 2015 Tim Hortons Brier was held from February 28 to March 8 at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2017 Tim Hortons Brier</span>

The 2017 Tim Hortons Brier, Canada's national men's curling championship, was held from March 4–12, 2017 at the Mile One Centre in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.

The 2017 WestJet Players' Championship was held from April 11 to 16 at Ryerson's Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto. It was the seventh men's and sixth women's Grand Slam event of the 2016–17 curling season.

The 2017 BOOST National was held from November 14 to 19 at the Essar Centre in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. This was the third Grand Slam of Curling event of the 2017–18 curling season.

The 2018 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Olympic Trials, also known as the Canad Inns Canadian Mixed Doubles Trials, were held from January 2 to 7 at the Stride Place in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. The winners of this event represented Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

The 2018 Players' Championship was held from April 10 to 15, 2018 at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, Ontario. It was the seventh men's and sixth women's Grand Slam event of the 2017–18 World Curling Tour.

The 2019 Humpty's Champions Cup was held from April 23 to 28 at the Merlis Belsher Place in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. It was the eighth and final Grand Slam event of the 2018–19 curling season. In the men's final, Brendan Bottcher defeated Kevin Koe 6–5 to win his 3rd career Grand Slam. In the women's final, Silvana Tirinzoni defeated Kerri Einarson 6–3 to win her 2nd career Slam.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2020 Scotties Tournament of Hearts</span>

The 2020 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Canada's national women's curling championship, was held from February 15 to 23 at Mosaic Place in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. The winning team was scheduled to represent Canada at the 2020 World Women's Curling Championship at the CN Centre in Prince George, British Columbia.

The 2019 KIOTI TRACTOR Tour Challenge was held from November 5 to 10, at the Pictou County Wellness Centre in Westville Road, Nova Scotia. It was the second Grand Slam event of the 2019–20 season.

The 2020 Alberta Boston Pizza Cup presented by Best Western, the provincial men's curling championship for Alberta, was held from February 5 to 9 at the Westlock Curling Club in Westlock, Alberta. The winning Brendan Bottcher rink represented Alberta at the 2020 Tim Hortons Brier in Kingston, Ontario.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2021 Champions Cup (curling)</span> Grand Slam of Curling event

The 2021 Humpty's Champions Cup, a curling Grand Slam event, was held April 15–19, 2021 at the Markin MacPhail Centre at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Alberta. Two days before the event was supposed to begin on Monday, April 12, the organizers delayed its start time by one day due to the (false) positive COVID-19 tests from the 2021 World Men's Curling Championship, which was held at the same site from April 2–11.

The 2021 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship was held from November 7 to 14 at the Canmore Golf & Curling Club in Canmore, Alberta.

The 2022 HearingLife Tour Challenge was held from October 18 to 23 at the Coca-Cola Centre in Grande Prairie, Alberta. It was the second Grand Slam event of the 2022–23 curling season.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2023 U Sports/Curling Canada University Curling Championships</span>

The 2023 U Sports/Curling Canada University Championships were held from March 15 to 19 at the Gerry McCrory Countryside Sports Complex in Sudbury, Ontario. The host university of the event was Laurentian University. Sudbury was originally scheduled to host the 2022 edition of the event, however, it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Ontario. The event was held in conjunction with the 2023 CCAA/Curling Canada College Curling Championships, the Canadian college curling championship.
