The 2021 NAB AFL Women's Rising Star award was presented to the player adjudged the best young player during the 2021 AFL Women's season. [1] Tyla Hanks of the Melbourne Football Club won the award with 48 votes. [2]

Eligibility

Every round, two nominations will be given to standout young players who performed well during that particular round. To be eligible for nomination, players must have been under 21 years of age on 1 January 2021 and not suspended during the season. [1]

Abbie McKay is an Australian rules footballer playing for Carlton in the AFL Women's competition (AFLW). She was selected by Carlton with the 16th pick in the 2018 draft as the first woman selected under the father-daughter rule. Her father, Andrew was a premiership player for Carlton in 1995.

Tyla Hanks

Tyla Hanks is an Australian rules footballer playing for Melbourne in the AFL Women's (AFLW). An inside midfielder, she played junior football in the TAC Cup Girls and VFL Women's, and competed at four AFL Women's Under 18 Championships. Hanks was recruited by Melbourne with pick 6 in the 2018 AFLW draft and debuted in the opening round of the 2019 season.

Haneen Zreika is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Greater Western Sydney Giants in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She is the first person of Lebanese descent, and the first Muslim, to play in the AFL Women's. Initially a rugby league player, Zreika switched to Australian rules football when she was 15 years old. Zreika played in the AFL Sydney competition before she was drafted by Greater Western Sydney in the 2017 rookie draft. She was delisted by the Giants at the end of the 2018 season, but was later re-selected in the 2018 draft after a strong season in the AFL Sydney. Zreika made her AFLW debut in the opening round of the 2019 season and was nominated for the 2019 AFL Women's Rising Star award in round 7.

Georgia Patrikios is an Australian rules footballer playing for the St Kilda Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Patrikios received a nomination for the 2020 AFL Women's Rising Star award in round 1 of the 2020 season, her debut match, and was one of four inaugural St Kilda best and fairest winners that year. She was also selected in the 2021 AFL Women's All-Australian team.
