College Hockey America (CHA) is a college ice hockey conference in the United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a hockey-only conference. The conference is made up of six women's teams, with three in Pennsylvania; two in New York, and one in Missouri.
The Mercyhurst Lakers women's ice hockey team is a college ice hockey program representing Mercyhurst University in NCAA Division I competition as a member of the College Hockey America (CHA) conference. They play in Erie, Pennsylvania at the Mercyhurst Ice Center, located on the Mercyhurst campus.
Syracuse Orange women's ice hockey is a college ice hockey program that has represented Syracuse University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and College Hockey America (CHA) since the 2008–09 season. Syracuse plays its home games at Tennity Ice Skating Pavilion in Syracuse, New York.
The Robert Morris Colonials women's ice hockey program represents Robert Morris University. The Colonials competed in the College Hockey America conference. The program was suspended, along with the Men's team, after an announcement by the university on May 26, 2021. On December 17, 2021, it was announced both programs were going to be reinstated for the 2023-24 season.
In the 2008-09 season, Syracuse University joined the conference. The Mercyhurst Lakers were both the CHA regular-season and tournament champions. The Lakers were 16-0-0 in conference play.
The Mercyhurst Lakers represented Mercyhurst College in the 2010–11 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Frozen Four was hosted by Mercyhurst College at Louis J. Tullio Arena in Erie, Pennsylvania.

The RIT Tigers women's ice hockey team is one of two hockey teams representing Rochester Institute of Technology in suburban Rochester, New York. The team moved to NCAA Division I women's ice hockey as a member of College Hockey America after many years at Division III as part of the ECAC West conference. The Bruce B. Bates Women's Hockey Coach is former RIT player and captain Celeste Brown.
The Robert Morris Colonials women represented Robert Morris University in CHA women's ice hockey, during the 2012-13 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Colonials finished conference play in fourth place. They made it to the semifinal game of the CHA Tournament, where they were narrowly defeated by Mercyhurst.
The Syracuse Orange women represented Syracuse University in CHA women's ice hockey during the 2016-17 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. They came in second in their conference and reached the conference championship game before falling to Robert Morris.

The 2019–20 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season is the 19th season of competition in the National Collegiate division of NCAA women's ice hockey, the de facto equivalent of Division I in that sport. The season began in September 2019 and ended on March 10, 2020 following the conclusion of the ECAC Championship. The 2020 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey tournament at Agganis Arena in Boston which was supposed to be held March 20 and 22 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2017 College Hockey America Women's Ice Hockey Tournament was the 15th tournament in league history played between March 2 and March 4, 2017, at the Harborcenter in Buffalo, New York. Robert Morris won their second tournament and earned College Hockey America's automatic bid to the 2017 NCAA National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Tournament.
The Mercyhurst Lakers represented Mercyhurst University in CHA women's ice hockey during the 2019-20 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Lakers were undefeated on home ice. Mercyhurst won the College Hockey America Tournament with a 2–1 overtime win over regular season champions, Robert Morris. The overtime victory came at 4:19 with a goal from Summer-Rae Dobson. As tournament champions, Mercyhurst earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament to determine the national championship. On March 12, 2020, the NCAA Tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After a disappointing start of the season against nationally ranked teams, Syracuse had a very successful second half, finishing a competitive third place in the conference, five points from first place Mercyhurst University.
The 2020 College Hockey America Women's Ice Hockey Tournament was the 18th tournament in league history played between March 5 and March 7, 2020, at the LECOM Harborcenter in Buffalo, New York. Mercyhurst won their 13th tournament and earned College Hockey America's automatic bid into the 2020 NCAA National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Tournament. The NCAA Tournament was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Robert Morris Colonials women represent Robert Morris University in CHA women's ice hockey during the 2020-21 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season, the 16th overall in program history. Qualifying for the 2021 NCAA National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Tournament, the program ranked as the #8 seed.
