The tournaments for the qualification for the 2024 Women's European Water Polo Championship was held between 23 and 25 June 2023. [1]

Contents

Format

The 14 teams were split into two groups of four and two groups of three teams. The tournament was played at a single venue with the group winners and the second-ranked teams qualifying for the final tournament. [2]

The draw took place on 1 April 2023. [2]

Seeding

The seeding was announced on 29 March 2023. [3]

The tournaments of the qualifications for the 2022 Men's European Water Polo Championship were held between 17 and 20 February 2022. 17 teams, split into four groups, participated in the qualifications. The top two teams from each group advanced to the final tournament.

The tournaments of the qualifications for the 2022 Women's European Water Polo Championship were held between 17 February and 6 March 2022. 14 teams, split into three groups, played in the qualifications for the final tournament. The top two teams from each group advanced to the European Championships.

The 2024 Men's European Water Polo Championship was the 36th edition of the tournament, held in Dubrovnik and Zagreb, Croatia from 4 to 16 January 2024. Originally, Israel had been selected as host and the competition was slated to be held in Netanya, from 3 to 16 January 2024. Due to security concerns after the breakout of the 2023 Israel–Hamas war, LEN announced the Championship would be hosted elsewhere.

The 2024 Women's European Water Polo Championship was the 20th edition of the tournament. It was held in Eindhoven, Netherlands from 5 to 13 January 2024. It was scheduled to be held in Netanya, Israel, But the competition was taken away from Israel for security reasons after the 2023 Israel–Hamas war commenced. This edition was the first one to be played by 16 teams.

The 2024 Men's European U-19 Water Polo Championship was the 28th edition of the Men's European U-19 Water Polo Championship. The tournament was played in Burgas, Bulgaria from 1 to 7 September 2024. Serbia were the defending champions, but were eliminated in quarterfinals. Croatia won the tournament for the first time.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2024 Women's European U-19 Water Polo Championship</span> Youth womens water polo tournament

The 2024 Women's European U-19 Water Polo Championship was the 15th edition of the Women's European U-19 Water Polo Championship. The tournament was played in Zagreb, Croatia from 24 to 31 August 2024. Spain were the two-time defending champions and successfully defended their title with a win over Hungary in the final.
