50/50 is a South African environmental television program that has aired on SABC since 1984. [5] [6] [7] [8] The show seeks to deliver content on wildlife, conservation and environmental subjects with a focus on South Africa. The show's name 50/50 refers to the fifty fifty balance between humans and nature. [9] It is one of the longest running environmental programs on air in the world. [10] It has been broadcast on SABC 1, SABC 2, and SABC 3 at various times during its history; currently it is broadcast on SABC 2. It is broadcast during prime-time from 19:00 to 20:00 on Monday. [11]

Around 80% of the show's content is in English with the remaining 20% presented in Afrikaans. [12] A decision that was made in 2014 when the program was moved to SABC 3, [13] previously the show's content was presented half in English and half in Afrikaans.

7de Laan was a South African Afrikaans soap opera created by Danie Odendaal and produced by Danie Odendaal Productions. The series focuses on the lives of residents in and around the community of 7de Laan, in the suburb of Hillside. The programme's dialogue is primarily in Afrikaans and was subtitled in English with some English and Zulu dialogue in between. The show was cancelled in July 2023 and its final episode aired on 26 December 2023.

<i>Top Billing</i> (TV programme) South African television series

Top Billing was a South African lifestyle television programme that aired on SABC3 on Saturday evenings from 18:00–19:00 with repeats on Sundays at 12:00. It was founded by Basetsana Kumalo and Patience Stevens, who own the Tswelopele Production company. The show was the longest-running entertainment and lifestyle programme in South Africa, broadcasting since 1992. In addition to a variety of presenters, there was a voice-over guide throughout the programme. A magazine of the same name was launched in March 2004, containing similar content to the show.

Dalen Lance Jooste(Pronounced "Day-lyn") is a South African television host based in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was the host of the reality TV dance competition Step Up or Step Out for two seasons and a host of the early-morning TV show Dagbreek on DSTV's Kyknet channel. Lance has also performed as a presenter on television shows such as High School Musical, Spotlight South Africa, 20-Something, Pap Idols, and Bling. He released his debut album in 2006, titled Be Your Man, along with a single of the same name. He completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Financial Accounting at the University of Cape Town in 2004 and a Master of Business Leadership degree in 2014 through the University of South Africa (Unisa) Graduate School of Business Leadership.

Katlego Moswane Maboe is a South African TV presenter, singer-songwriter and accountant. Salamina Mphelo Mosese, is a South African actress, producer, announcer and television personality. She is best known for the role "Nthabiseng Masilo" in the television serial 7de Laan.

Ntokozo Mbuli is a South African television producer and presenter. and an entrepreneur. She is the creator of medical drama series Vutha, which first aired on SABC 2 in 2020, followed by a run on Amazon Prime Video in 2022 and 2023. She is most renowned for her work in conservation storytelling in television and film, and for presenting and producing the South African Broadcasting Corporation's flagship wildlife and environment show 50/50 one of the longest-running television programmes. She was the executive producer of SABC police drama, The Docket, as well as E.tv telenovelas Ashes 2 Ashes and Broken Vows, under the production company Clive Morris Productions.
