It is one of the oldest Jewish advocacy organizations and, according to The New York Times, is "widely regarded as the dean of American Jewish organizations". As of 2009, AJC envisions itself as the "Global Center for Jewish and Israel Advocacy".

Pascal Lamy is a French political consultant and businessman. He was the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) from 1 September 2005 to 1 September 2013 for 8 years. In April 2009, WTO members reappointed Lamy for a second 4-year term, beginning on 1 September 2009. He was then succeeded by Roberto Azevêdo. Pascal Lamy was also European Commissioner for Trade for 5 years, from 13 September 1999 to 22 November 2004 and is an advisor for the transatlantic think-tank European Horizons, as well as currently serving as the Honorary President of the Paris-based think tank, Notre Europe.

The foundation's headquarters are located in Sankt Augustin near Bonn, as well as in Berlin. Globally, the KAS has 78 offices and runs programs in over 100 countries. Its current chairman is the former President of the German parliament Deutscher Bundestag, Norbert Lammert. It is a member of the Martens Centre, the official foundation and think tank of the European People's Party (EPP). In 2020, it ranked 15th amongst think tanks globally.

He was the co-chair of Alliance 90/The Greens (alongside Claudia Roth from 2002 to 2008 and of the European Green Party from 2012 to 2019.

The Muslim-Jewish Advisory Council is an interfaith, bipartisan collaboration established by the American Jewish Committee and the Islamic Society of North America in early fall 2016. Its 46 members are business, religious, and political leaders from all over the United States. The Council focuses its public policy advocacy on reversing the rise in hate crimes based on religion in the United States. The council's actions includes creating "a coordinated strategy to address anti-Muslim bigotry and anti-Semitism" and to "protect and expand the rights of religious minorities" in the United States. More recently the council has turned its focus to fighting the rise in hate crime, advocating for Congress and the Department of Justice to strengthen laws against hate crimes.

Kimberly Marteau Emerson is an attorney, advocate and civic leader known for her expertise in the fields of foreign policy, public diplomacy and human rights. She has served in government at the federal and local levels, and engaged in advocacy and relief efforts in some European, African and South Asian countries. Her husband John B. Emerson was the United States Ambassador to Germany from 2013 to 2017. During those years she gained prominence on the transatlantic stage for her efforts to promote ties between the United States and Germany, lead embassy projects during the 2015-16 refugee crisis, and address human rights issues around the world. Marteau Emerson has been active in the Democratic Party since her work on the staff of the 1988 Michael Dukakis presidential campaign, subsequently serving in roles in multiple presidential campaigns. In addition to regular speaking engagements and interviews, she holds leadership positions on a number of transatlantic boards and has served as an unofficial envoy and facilitator of mutual engagement between the sister cities Berlin and Los Angeles.
