The chorus was first named ALSOUNDS, due in part to its affiliation with the ALSO Foundation. In April 1994, the name was changed to Melbourne Gay and Lesbian Chorus, reflecting the chorus's organisational independence and a desire to further challenge stereotypes.

Treenighedskirkens Drengekor is a Danish boys choir founded in Trinity Church, Esbjerg in 1964. The choir has performed widely in Denmark, the rest of Europe and in North America.
Aarhus International Jazz Festival is an eight-day jazz festival in Aarhus, Denmark. It is held every year in July, August or September. The festival performs at the Aarhus Concert Hall, as well as many different venues across the city. Many concerts are played outdoors in the public space and are for free. Aarhus Jazz Festival has been awarded with the European Effe Label in 2017-2018. The 2018 festival was held from 14 to 21 July and the 2019 festival takes place from 13 to 20 July.
Sofia Vokalensemble is a mixed chamber choir based in the Sofia Church in the Sofia parish in Stockholm, Sweden. The choir in its present form was founded in 1995 by conductor Bengt Ollén who still leads the artistic work.
Vester Allé Kaserne is a former military barracks and listed building in the city of Aarhus. The barracks was built on the area between Vester Allé, Frederiks Allé and Thomas Jensens Allé in 1875-1878 and was closed in 1969 after which the buildings were taken over by Aarhus Municipality. There are two remaining buildings left from the original complex; the Officersbygningen and Ridehuset.
Rådhusparken is a public park in central Aarhus, Denmark. The park is situated by the City Hall in the Indre By neighborhood of Midtbyen, between the streets Frederiks Allé to the west and Park Allé to the east. The park lies within a scenic semi-circle of some of the more important cultural and political institutions in the city; the Concert Hall, the ARoS Art Museum, Vester Allés Kaserne and the city hall. The City Hall Park was listed along with the adjacent city hall on 10 March 1995.
Dokk1 or Dokken is a building, public library and culture center in Aarhus, Denmark. It is situated on Hack Kampmanns Plads in the city center by the waterfront next to the Custom House. Dokk1 is part of the much larger development project Urban Mediaspace Aarhus, jointly financed by Aarhus Municipality and Realdania for 2.1 billion DKK. It is designed by schmidt hammer lassen architects and Kristine Jensen, with construction managed by NCC AB. Construction broke ground 8 June 2011 and the building was inaugurated four years later on 20 June 2015.
The Concert Hall Park is a public park in central Aarhus, Denmark. The park is situated by the City Hall in the Indre By neighborhood in Midtbyen, along the street Frederiks Allé to the east, Thomas Jensen's Allé to the south and Vester Allé to the north, behind the remaining buildings of the former Vester Allés Barracks. The park is named for the Aarhus Concert Hall which is prominently situated on its western border. The park forms a center-point between some of the most prominent buildings in the city, the ARoS Aarhus Art Museum, Vester Allé Barracks, the concert hall and Aarhus City Hall in view behind the City Hall Park across Frederiks Allé. The park was designed by the landscape architect Sven Hansen and was established in the 1980s.
The architecture of Aarhus comprises numerous architectural styles and works from the Middle Age to present day. Aarhus has a well-preserved medieval city center with the oldest dwellings dating back to the mid-1500s and some ecclesiastical structures such as St. Clemen's Cathedral and numerous smaller churches that can be traced back to the 1100s. The industrialization of the 19th nd 20th centuries left distinctive industrial structures, important National romantic works and some of the best examples of Functionalist architecture in the country. The history of the city as a Viking fort is evidenced in the street layout of the Latin Quarter, the wider Indre By neighborhood testifies to its later role as a Market town and center of commerce while the Frederiksbjerg, Trøjborg and Marselisborg districts showcase the first cohesive urban planning efforts of the early 20th century.
Aarhus School of Music is a municipal music school located in Aarhus, Denmark. The school was founded in 1932 as a private school but in 1977 Aarhus Municipality took over and has been running it as an unaccredited institution ever side. The school is situated in the officers building of the former Vester Allé Barracks, The school cooperates with the Danish National Opera and the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra and is home to a number of choirs and orchestras.
Aarhus Pride is a pride parade in Aarhus, Denmark and the largest Danish event focused on LGBT issues outside Copenhagen. The first event was held in 2012 and has been repeated every year since. It is managed and controlled by private individuals from the LGBT community and supported with funds from the city of Aarhus. In 2017, about 6,000 people took part in the 3.5-kilometre-long (2.2 mi) parade with floats and flags.
Flemming Knudsen is a Danish politician and former mayor from Aarhus. He was a member of Aarhus City Council between 1986 and 2009 and the mayor of Aarhus between 1997 and 2001. In 2009 he was elected for the council of the Central Denmark Region where he became a member of the business Committee. Flemming Knudsen has been involved with many local organizations, especially sports where he has been chairman of a local handball chapter between 1972-1980.
Annette Bjergfeldt is a Danish songwriter, singer and author. She served on Statens Kunstfonds committee for scholarships during Musik 2014/15, appointed by the Danish Ministry of Culture. She has received the P4 Prisen and DJBFA's Hædersprisen awards from Danmarks Radio and has been nominated for 2 Grammys and 13 Danish Music Awards for her albums Red Letter Days (1995) with the band Harvest Moon, All That We Are (2001), Songs For Modern Mammals (2003), The Kissing Post, (2004), Man Må godt Ta´ To Gange, (2008) og Et Helt Nyt År, (2013). The album Songs For Modern Mammals was nominated for the award "Årets danske folk-album" at the Danish Music Awards in 2004. Bjergfeldt received four nomination at the same prize-show although she did not win any. She also co-wrote songs for international artists such as American guitar-icon Jerry Douglas, Eddi Reader and Teiturs classic "Josephine" along with the theme-music for Ordet Fanger.
