Aba North/Aba South is a federal constituency in Abia State, Nigeria. It covers Aba North and Aba South local government areas within the city of Aba. Emeka Nnamani of the Labour Party was declared winner of the 2023 election. He was sacked by the election petition tribunal. Alex Ikwechegh of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was declared winner. [1]

Alex Otti is a Nigerian economist, banker, investor, philanthropist, and politician, serving as the current Governor of Abia State in Nigeria. He is from Atani, Arochukwu originally. Otti is the former Group Managing Director of Diamond Bank Plc, a retail financial institution in Nigeria. Otti was a gubernatorial candidate of Abia State on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). On 31 December 2015, The Court of Appeal which sat in Owerri removed Okezie Ikpeazu of the Peoples Democratic Party as governor of Abia State and declared Otti the winner of the April 11 and April 25 Governorship elections in the state. On February 3, 2016, the Supreme Court of Nigeria reversed the verdict of the Court of Appeal and affirmed the election of Ikpeazu as Governor. Otti is a member of the editorial board of Thisday, and writes a fortnightly column, every other Monday, titled "Outside The Box".

Okezie Victor Ikpeazu is a Nigerian politician and former Governor of Abia State, who was in office from 29 May 2015 to 29 May 2023. He was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party. He was re-elected as the Governor of Abia state at the 9 March 2019 gubernatorial election. He ran for election at the 2023 Senatorial election for Abia South Senatorial District but came a distant third behind incumbent Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe of All Progressive Grand Alliance and a political newbie Chinedu Onyeizu of the Labour Party.

The 2019 Abia State gubernatorial election occurred on March 9, 2019. Incumbent PDP Governor Okezie Ikpeazu won re-election for a second term, defeating APC's Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, and several minor party candidates. The major contenders for the race signed a peace accord agreement in January 2019.

The 2023 Abia State gubernatorial election took place on 18 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Abia State, concurrent with elections to the Abia State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—will be held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent PDP governor Okezie Ikpeazu was term-limited and could not seek a third term. Alex Otti, a banker, gained the office for the Labour Party by a margin of victory over first runner-up and PDP nominee—Okey Ahiwe, the former Chief of Staff to Ikpeazu.

The 2019 Nigerian Senate election in Abia State was held on February 23, 2019, to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Abia State. Enyinnaya Abaribe representing Abia South and Theodore Orji representing Abia Central won on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, while Orji Uzor Kalu representing Abia North won on the platform of All Progressives Congress.

Kelechi Onuzuruike is a Nigerian politician. He is the Former Deputy Chief Whip of the Abia State House of Assembly. He formerly represented Umuahia North state constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly.

Emeka Nnamani is a Nigerian businessman and politician. He was a member of the Federal House of Representatives from Aba North/ Aba South Federal Constituency of Abia State in the 10th National Assembly.
