Abdul Wahid Nazari (Pashto : عبدالواحد نظري) is an Afghan film writer, director and producer. He is the director of Radio Television Afghanistan. [1]

Early life

Abdul Wahid was born to Mohammad Amin Nazari in 1954 in Kandahar, Afghanistan. He completed his high school from Rahman Baba High School in Kabul. [2]

Kandahār or Qandahār is the second-largest city in Afghanistan, with a population of about 557,118. Kandahar is located in the south of the country on the Arghandab River, at an elevation of 1,010 m (3,310 ft). It is the capital of Kandahar Province, and also the center of the larger cultural region called Loy Kandahar. In 1709, Mirwais Hotak made the region an independent kingdom and turned Kandahar into the capital of the Hotak dynasty. In 1747, Ahmad Shah Durrani, founder of the Durrani dynasty, made Kandahar the capital of the Afghan Empire.

Afghanistan, officially the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, is a landlocked country located in South and Central Asia. Afghanistan is bordered by Pakistan in the south and east; Iran in the west; Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan in the north; and in the far northeast, China. Its territory covers 652,000 square kilometers (252,000 sq mi) and much of it is covered by the Hindu Kush mountain range, which experiences very cold winters. Rahman Baba High School Afghan high school

The Rahman Baba High School is located in west Kabul, Afghanistan. It was established by the help of Pakistan and is one of the best schools in Kabul Province. It is specially dedicated to the students of rural areas and follows the curriculum of the Ministry of Education of Afghanistan in Pashto language.

Abdul Wahid was admitted in the Faculty of Law and Political science at Kabul University. A year later he received a scholarship to Bulgaria where he studied Cinema and Television. In 1982 he received a PhD and returned to Afghanistan. [2]

Soon after returning to Afghanistan in 1982, he started working as a TV director and than a movie director. In the meantime, he was appointed as the director of Afghan films and a professor at the Faculty of Arts in Kabul University.

In 2005 he was appointed as the head of Ariana Television and later the head of Shamshad Television. [2]

Shamshad TV

Shamshad Radio & Television Network is based in Afghanistan and Dubai. Shamshad was launched in early 2006 and broadcasts 24 hours a day. Shamshad TV is one of the most popular Pashto language television stations in Afghanistan.

Abdul Hai HabibiʿAbd' ul-Ḥay Ḥabībi) was a prominent Afghan historian for much of his lifetime as well as a member of the National Assembly of Afghanistan during the reign of King Zahir Shah. A Pashtun nationalist from Kakar tribe of Kandahar, Afghanistan, he began as a young teacher who made his way up to become a writer, scholar, politician and Dean of Faculty of Literature at Kabul University. He is the author of over 100 books but is best known for editing Pata Khazana, an "old" Pashto language manuscript that he claimed to have "discovered" in 1944; the academic community, however, does not acknowledge the manuscript as genuine.
