Irving Martin Abella is a Canadian writer, historian and academic.

Abella, often known as Abella of Salerno or Abella of Castellomata, was a physician in the mid fourteenth century. Abella studied and taught at the Salerno School of Medicine. Abella is believed to have been born around 1380, but the exact time of her birth and death is unclear. Abella lectured on standard medical practices, bile, and women's health and nature at the medical school in Salerno. Abella, along with Rebecca de Guarna, specialized in the area of embryology. She published two treatises: De atrabile and De natura seminis humani, neither of which survive today. In Salvatore De Renzi's nineteenth-century study of the Salerno School of Medicine, Abella is one of four women mentioned who were known to practice medicine, lecture on medicine, and wrote treatises. These attributes placed Abella into a group of women known as the Mulieres Salernitanae, or women of Salerno.

Isona i Conca Dellà is a municipality in the comarca of the Pallars Jussà in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the valley of the Conques river in the south-east of the comarca. It was formed in 1970 by the fusion of the following municipalities: Isona, Basturs, Benavent de la Conca, Biscarri, Conques, Covet, Gramenet, Llordà, Masos de Sant Martí, Montodó, Orcau i Figuerola d'Orcau, Sant Romà d'Abella and Siall. The town hall is in Isona. The municipality is served by the C-1412 road between Artesa de Segre and Tremp, and is linked to Coll de Nargó by the L-511. It includes a small exclave to the south.

Abella de la Conca Municipality in Catalonia, Spain

Abella de la Conca is a village in the province of Province of Lleida in the county of Pallars Jussà and the autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. The municipality is situated on the eastern bank of the Tremp Basin. It comprises the high valleys of the Abella River tributary of the Conques river on its right bank and of the Rams River. The valley of the latter is sandwiched between the Boumort and Carreu mountains. In addition to the Tremp Basin, it comprises a section of the Puials River valley. A portion of the village houses are semi-excavated in the rock.
