Jasimuddin

Jasimuddin, popularly called Palli Kabi, was a Bengali poet, lyricist, composer and writer widely celebrated for his modern ballad sagas in the pastoral mode. Although his full name is Jasim Uddin Mollah, he is known as Jasim Uddin.His Nakshi Kanthar Math and Sojan Badiar Ghat are considered among the best lyrical poems in the Bengali language. Established in 1955, it is located in Burdwan House in Ramna, Dhaka, within the grounds of the University of Dhaka and Suhrawardy Udyan. The Bangla Academy hosts the annual Ekushey Book Fair.

Selina Hossain Bangladeshi writer

Selina Hossain is a Bangladeshi novelist and the current president of Bangla Academy since February 2022. Her major works include Hangor Nodi Grenade (1976) and Poka Makorer Ghor Boshoti (1996). She earned all major national awards – Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1980, Ekushey Padak in 2009 and Independence Day Award in 2018. Her novels and short stories have been translated into English, Russian, French, Japanese, Korean, Finnish and Malay. She served as the chairperson of Bangladesh Shishu Academy from 2014 until 2018.

Syed Hasan Imam is an actor, film director, television director and cultural personality in Bangladesh. He earned Ekushey Padak (1999), Independence Day Award (2016) and Bangladesh National Film Award for Lifetime Achievement (2014). He was part of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. He became an honorary fellow of Bangla Academy in 2010.

Amjad Hossain

Amjad Hossain was a Bangladeshi film director, actor, scriptwriter and lyricist. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director twice, for the films Golapi Ekhon Traine (1978) and Bhat De (1984). He also won Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2004 and Ekushey Padak in 1992.

Somnur Monir Konal is a Bangladeshi singer and television host who is best known as a playback singer for Bangladeshi films. She debuted in the entertainment industry by winning the musical television reality show Channel i Shera Kontho in 2009. Since then she has recorded songs for dozens of films, hosted various television shows, and judged the 2019 edition of children's musical reality show Ganer Raja. As of 2022, she has sung for films with more than 300 songs.

Sheikh Faisal Abdur Rouf Mohammad Ziauddin Haider was a Bangladeshi writer, poet, playwright, translator and professor. He was the founder president of Nagorik Natya Sampradaya and founder of the Bangladesh Institute of Theater Arts. He wrote 7 poems, 4 plays and translated several plays. He was awarded Ekushey Padak by the Government of Bangladesh in 2001 and Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1977.

Manju Sarkar is a Bangladeshi writer. He is the recipient of Bangla Academy Literary Award (1998).

Halima Khatun was a Bangladeshi activist, writer and academic. She took part in Bengali Language Movement in 1952 along with other activists including Rawshan Ara Bachchu. She was the recipient of Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1981 and Ekushey Padak posthumously in 2019.

Haider Akbar Khan Rono is a Bangladeshi public leader, theorist and writer. He is a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Bangladesh. He has published 13 books. He has received the Bangla Academy Literary Award (2021).

Mohammad Anwar Latif Khan is a Bangladesh Army Colonel and the Sector Commander of Border Guards Bangladesh in Rajshahi. He is the former Additional Director General (Operations) at the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) an elite multi-service unit of the Bangladesh Police and oversaw crackdowns on Islamist militants. He has been sanctioned by the United States for his activities in RAB. He had previously commanded RAB-5, RAB-7, and RAB-11.
