Africa Art Fashion Show is an annual international fashion week, held in Kampala, Uganda, that highlights African culture in a series of fashion shows, events, educational seminars, and workshops. [1] [2] The event features collections that reflect the traditions of Africa and the local designers in Uganda.

Contents

History

Started in 2022 by Nalwoga Cerinah Kasirye, [3] the event focused on marginalised girls and youths who managed to come up with unique designs for the show with an African Touch. [4] In 2023, Ms Nalwoga Cerinah, used the show as a platform fight stigma against vitiligo. [3] The most recent event took place at MOTIV. [5]

Hamz Stadium, formerly referred to as Nakivubo Stadium at Nakivubo War Memorial Grounds, is a multi-purpose stadium in Kampala, Uganda. Following extensive renovations led by businessman Hamis Kiggundu in partnership with the Ugandan government, the stadium has been upgraded to international standards. It is slated to host significant events like AFCON2027 and CHAN 2024. which will mark a new chapter in Uganda's sporting and community landscape. It was previously used mostly for football matches and served as the home venue of SC Villa. The stadium had a capacity of about 21,000 people, but upon partial completion of the renovations started in 2017, President Museveni commissioned the stadium on 25 April 2024. Brigadier Flavia Byekwaso, is a Ugandan military officer, who served as an elected member of parliament representing the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) in the 10th Parliament (2016–2021). On 1 August 2020, she was appointed Spokesperson of the UPDF, replacing Brigadier Richard Karemire, who was transferred to the East African Community headquarters as the Defence Liaison Officer. In January 2022 she was dropped as UPDF spokesperson and sent for further training at the Uganda National Defence College.

Jacqueline Kyatuheire is a Ugandan sociologist and politician. She is a former member of the Parliament of Uganda representing the Kanungu District under the National Resistance Movement from 2002 to 2011 when she was defeated by Elizabeth Karungi.

Mbaziira Tonny(born 3 March 1987) is a Ugandan DJ, producer and record executive from Masaka District. Mbaziira Tonny first gained recognition as a radio host in 2008 for radio Equator in Masaka and translated his popularity by working with his deejaying partner Ssuuna Ben with their local music style known as Endongo Yebinyaanya both on the radio and in live performances.
