Alexander "Alec" Fraser was a Scottish footballer who played in the Football League for Fulham, Bradford Park Avenue and Middlesbrough. He also played for Inverness Thistle, Newcastle United, Darlington and Newcastle City. During the majority of his career he played as a forward, in either the centre forward or inside left position.

Reverend Alexander Garden Fraser (1873-1962), MA, CBE, was one of the founders of Achimota School and the first Principal of the School (1924–1935). The other founders were Sir Frederick Gordon Guggisberg, former governor of the Gold Coast (1919–1927), and Dr. James Emman Kwegyir Aggrey, the first Assistant Vice Principal (1924–1927).

Alec Frederick Fraser-Brunner was a British ichthyologist. His career included work with the Colonial Office, the Food and Agriculture Organization, and as the curator of the Van Kleef Aquarium in Singapore and the aquarium at Edinburgh Zoo. Amongst his written works is Cussons Book of Tropical Fishes, published as result of Manchester industrialist Alexander Tom Cussons' interest in tropical fish. Cussons had a keen interest in orchids. The hot-houses in which he grew them proved to be well-suited to tropical fish aquariums.
Alec Frederick Fraser-Brunner is the designer of Singapore's iconic national symbol, the Merlion. The Merlion was originally designed for the Singapore Tourism Board as their logo in 1964. It went on to be sculpted by Mr Lim Nang Seng and completed in 1972. It now sits at Merlion Park in Marina Bay.

Skerryvore (band) band

Skerryvore are a Scottish Celtic Rock group formed on Tiree, Argyll and Bute in 2004. The band started off with Tiree brothers Daniel Gillespie and Martin Gillespie, alongside regular Tiree visitor Fraser West and his friend Alec Dalglish, both from Livingston, West Lothian. The group took their name from the Skerryvore lighthouse that lies 12 miles off the coast of Tiree. The group’s present line-up includes Craig Espie, Alan Scobie, Jodie Bremaneson and, since April 2017, Scott Wood. Skerryvore have released five studio albums, with an additional ‘deluxe’ version of one including some live tracks.
