Alexander Schaafsma (born 28 February 1974 in Groningen) is a Dutch ice hockey player.
A defenceman, Schaafsma began his senior club career in 1990–91 with hometown GIJS Groningen. He played 1991–2 with the Rotterdam Panda's, then 1992-3 and 1993–4 with Nijmegen Tigers. Schaafsma then joined Heerenveen Flyers for the next two and a half seasons.
Schaafsma moved in 1997-98 to Germany briefly and club Grefrather EG. The following season he joined the original Amsterdam Tigers. In 2003-04 he played for Amsterdam Bulldogs before rejoining Heenrenveen the following season. Since 2005, Schaafsma been with Amstel Tijgers. His best offensive season was 2006–07, when he had 42 points in 38 games.

The Bridgeport Islanders are a professional ice hockey team playing in the American Hockey League (AHL). They are the AHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, who own the franchise. The team started in 2001–02 season and were purchased by the Islanders in 2004. The team is based in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and play their home games at the Total Mortgage Arena.
Herbert Martin Gardiner was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played for the Calgary Tigers of the Western Canada Hockey League (WCHL) and the Montreal Canadiens and Chicago Black Hawks of the National Hockey League (NHL) between 1920 and 1929. Additionally, he was the head coach of the Black Hawks for part of the 1928–29 season. Gardiner was a member of the WCHL champion Tigers in 1924 and in 1927 won the Hart Trophy as the NHL's most valuable player after playing every minute of every game for the Canadiens. He coached several minor professional teams in Philadelphia following his retirement as a player. Gardiner was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1958.
Harry Wilfred Burch was an American-born, Canadian professional ice hockey forward who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Hamilton Tigers, New York Americans, Chicago Black Hawks, and Boston Bruins. Born in Yonkers, New York, Burch grew up in Toronto and scored 42 goals in 12 Memorial Cup playoff games to lead the Toronto Canoe Club Paddlers to the 1920 Canadian junior championship.
Russell "Barney" Stanley was a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who played for the Vancouver Millionaires of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association (PCHA) and the Calgary Tigers, Regina Capitals and Edmonton Eskimos of the Western Canada Hockey League (WCHL). He was the second head coach of the Chicago Black Hawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He won the Stanley Cup with the Millionaires in 1915 and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1963.
Nate DiCasmirro is a Canadian-born Italian former professional ice hockey right winger who was born in Atikokan, Ontario, but grew up in Burnsville, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis. He most notably played in the American Hockey League and for the Italian national team.

William George Boyd was a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who played 133 games in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers and New York Americans between 1926 and 1930. With the Rangers he won the Stanley Cup in 1928. Outside of the NHL, Boyd played hockey from 1916 to 1930 in a variety of minor and senior leagues.
William Eduard Antonio Klooster is a former Dutch ice hockey player, born in Amsterdam, North Holland. A defenceman, he competed for the Netherlands national ice hockey team at both the 1980 Winter Olympics and the 1981 World Ice Hockey Championships.
Henk Hille is a Dutch former professional ice hockey player. A defenceman, he played three seasons in the Allsvenskan in the mid-1980s and 48 times for the Netherlands national ice hockey team including all their contests at the 1980 Winter Olympics.
Leo Donald Koopmans is a former Dutch international ice hockey forward. Koopmans played 15 seasons in the Eredivisie, becoming the league's top scorer for 1977-8. He was born in Barrie, Ontario and since his retirement has continued to reside in the Barrie area where he owns a successful swimming pool construction business.

Ron Berteling is a Dutch retired ice hockey player and coach. He represented the Netherlands ice hockey at the 1980 Winter Olympics, and served as captain of the Netherlands men's national ice hockey team from 1982 to 1993. He appeared in 14 Ice Hockey World Championships, and holds the record of 213 games played for the national team. He played in 26 seasons of the Eredivisie, competing the Netherlands' top league for the Amsterdam Tigers and the Rotterdam Panda's. He was named the league's most valuable player for the 1987–88 season, won four Eredivisie titles, five Dutch Cups as a player and a sixth as a coach. He received the Order of Orange-Nassau in 1994, was made the namesake of the Ron Berteling Schaal in 2007, and received the Torriani Award from the International Ice Hockey Federation in 2020.
