Jewellery consists of decorative items worn for personal adornment, such as brooches, rings, necklaces, earrings, pendants, bracelets, and cufflinks. Jewellery may be attached to the body or the clothes. From a western perspective, the term is restricted to durable ornaments, excluding flowers for example. For many centuries metal such as gold often combined with gemstones, has been the normal material for jewellery, but other materials such as glass, shells and other plant materials may be used.

The Jewels of the Nizams of Hyderabad State are among the largest and most expensive collection of jewels in present-day India. The jewels belonged to the Nizams. After the annexation of their kingdom by Union of India, the Nizam and his heirs were barred by the Indian government from taking the collection, claiming that it was a national treasure. After much litigation, the diamond was purchased by the Government of India from the Nizam's trust for an estimated $13 million in 1995, along with other jewels of the Nizams, and is held at the Reserve Bank of India vaults in Mumbai.

All That Glitters: Britain's Next Jewellery Star is a BBC reality show that began airing on BBC Two on 13 April 2021. In the show, jewellers compete to be named "Britain's Next Jewellery Star". A spin-off of the format of The Great British Bake Off, the programme is presented by Katherine Ryan, with judges Shaun Leane and Solange Azagury-Partridge and Dinny Hall. The second series began airing on BBC Two in August 2022. It was confirmed in April 2023, that a third season would not be commissioned and the series was axed by the BBC.
The second series of All That Glitters: Britain's Next Jewellery Star started on 25 August 2022 and aired for six episodes concluding on 29 September 2022. The series was hosted by Katherine Ryan and the judges were Shaun Leane and Dinny Hall. Filming took place at the Birmingham School of Jewellery.
Handmade: Britain's Best Woodworker is a reality show that began airing on Channel 4 on 21 October 2021. In the show, woodworkers compete to be named "Britain's Best Woodworker". A spin-off of the format of The Great British Bake Off, the programme is presented by Mel Giedroyc, with judges Alex de Rijke and Helen Welch, and Tom Dyckhoff and Sophie Sellu. To date, three series have been produced and screened.
The third series of Handmade: Britain's Best Woodworker started on 8 October 2023 and aired for eight episodes. The series is again hosted by Mel Giedroyc, with Tom Dyckhoff and Sophie Sellu continuing to act as judges. Filming took place at the Glanusk Estate in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
