Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) is a convention centre in Brisbane, Australia. It is located in South Brisbane and occupies most of the block formed by Grey Street, Melbourne Street, Merivale Street, and Glenelg Street. The centre is owned by South Bank Corporation and managed by ASM Global.
Queensland Firebirds are an Australian netball team based in Brisbane which compete in the Suncorp Super Netball league. The team previously competed in the trans-Tasman ANZ Championship. The Firebirds were formed as one of the foundation teams of the Commonwealth Bank Trophy (CBT), previously the premier netball league in Australia, which was contested from 1997–2007. After the retirement of the CBT and ANZ Championship, the Firebirds were one of five Australian franchises to transfer to the Super Netball league.

Joanne Morgan is an Australian netball player. Morgan was an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder. She was Captain for the Sydney Sandpipers and Captain of NSW and also a member of the Queensland Firebirds in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy, with a stint in the New Zealand National Bank Cup in 2004, playing for the Western Flyers. Morgan continued to play with the Firebirds with the start of the ANZ Championship in 2008. During her time with the Sydney Sandpipers and the Queensland Firebirds, Morgan scored more than 4000 goals and is the third highest goal scorer of all time. Morgan is also a former Australian international, playing one test against New Zealand in 1996 in Adelaide. After being dropped from the Firebirds following the 2008 season, she initially signed though with the Canterbury Tactix franchise in New Zealand. However, her position in that team was rejected by Netball New Zealand. She was also considered for the Southern Steel in 2009 to replace former international Jenny-May Clarkson, who retired due to work commitments, but Morgan was not signed. Morgan continued to play in the Queensland State League for the Golden South Jaguars and in 2015 played Australian Netball League as an import player for the Northern Territory Storm. Morgan currently works as a high school physical education teacher at Helensvale State High School on the Gold Coast. She is also a Queensld State managerial.
Katie Walker is an Australian netball player. Walker played for the Queensland Firebirds in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy and in the ANZ Championship. However, she was controversially dropped from the Firebirds lineup for the 2009 season.
Clare Ferguson is an Australian international netball player. She played for the Queensland Firebirds in the ANZ Championship, having debuted with the team in 2007 during the previous Commonwealth Bank Trophy.
Laura Geitz is a former Australian netball player and former captain of the Australian national team. Geitz was selected for the 2008 Australian national team, and has won a silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, a gold medal at the 2011 World Netball Championships and a gold medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games as captain. The Queensland State Netball Centre, also known commercially as Nissan Arena, is a multi-purpose facility located in the southern Brisbane suburb of Nathan. The centre features a 5,000 seat indoor arena that is the home court of Super Netball team the Queensland Firebirds, as well as National Basketball League club the Brisbane Bullets. It is the administrative headquarters of Netball Queensland and provides training facilities for elite-level and community-based netball clubs in Queensland.
