Ambu Island is an isle off the coast of Mumbai near Madh Island located at 19°08′00″N72°47′00″E / 19.1333°N 72.7833°E in the Arabian Sea. The isle is accessible during low tide across a rocky isthmus. A mosque is built on the island. There is also a makeshift church and a small Hindu Temple. The ruins of an old tower stand next to a small lighthouse. Malad, about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) away, is the closest railhead to the island.
The Barra Isles, also known as the Bishop's Isles, are a small archipelago in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. They lie south of the island of Barra, for which they are named. The group consists of nine islands and numerous rocky islets, skerries, and sea stacks.

The Battle of Ronaldsway took place in 1275 at Ronaldsway in the southern part of the Isle of Man between a Scottish army and the Manx. The battle crushed the final attempt by the Manx to re-establish the Norse Sudreyar dynasty. As the battle resulted in the death of the last Norse King of Mann, Guðrøðr Magnússon, and the emigration to Norway of the remaining members of the Manx royal family, it also led to the firm establishment of Scottish rule on the Isle of Man.

It was the second significant Russian victory in the Great Northern War in which a Russian army under Boris Sheremetev attacked a much smaller force under Wolmar Anton von Schlippenbach and defeated it after experiencing similar casualties to the Swedes. This was a final blow to the Swedish force defending Livonia and the defeat left it fully open to Russian attacks.
