Ana Yancy Clavel (born April 28, 1992) [1] is a Salvadorian model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss El Salvador in 2012. Clavel represented El Salvador in Miss Universe 2012.
Her career started in the world of modeling participating in TV commercials and Salvadorean brand model Lemour Design. [1] She also participated in national television programs.
Clavel was born and raised in San Salvador, El Salvador. [1] She has a degree in early childhood education from the University of El Salvador. [1]
Her hobbies include playing sports, playing the flute, video games and playing pool. In an interview, Clavel stated that she learned Sign Language because one of her cousins lost her hearing due to a stroke. [2]
On April 27 of 2012, Clavel was crowned Estrange Belleza Universo El Salvador 2012. She was crowned by her predecessor Alejandra Ochoa, Nuestra Belleza Bicentenario. [3] She represented El Salvador in Miss Continente Americano 2012 and Miss Universe 2012. In one of her first interviews as Nuestra Belleza El Salvador, she said: "I am very happy for the success. Thank God, my family and friends for all the support they have given me throughout the competition. From now on I will endeavor to rise up the name of El Salvador." Although considered a favorite for the crown,[ citation needed ] with the most votes in many Latin popular pages, Clavel failed to enter the Top 16.
The Mexicana Universal is a national beauty pageant in Mexico held annually since 2018, replacing the former pageant, Nuestra Belleza México, held since 1994. Currently, the pageant is responsible for selecting the country's delegates to Miss International, Reina Hispanoamericana, Miss Charm, Nuestra Latinoamericana Universal, and Miss Orb International. The current Mexicana Universal is Melissa Flores of Michoacán, who represented Mexico at Miss Universe 2023 but was unplaced.

Nuestra Belleza Universo 2011, Alejandra Ochoa and Nuestra Belleza Mundo 2011 crowned their perspective successors at the end of the event. The co winners will represent El Salvador at Miss Universe 2012, Miss World 2012 and Miss Continente Americano 2012. Patricia was born in the town of Juayúa, which means "River of purple orchids", in Native American Pipil language. Although Patricia did not place in Miss Universe, she was a fan favorite, gaining much media attention and is considered one of the most memorable Miss El Salvador and Central American beauty queen in recent history due to her beauty and performance.

Miss World Mexico 2016, now referred to as Miss Mexico 2016, is the very first edition of a new pageant organization formed by Hugo Castellanos after Lupita Jones, president of Nuestra Belleza México, lost the franchise with Miss World. The pageant held at Teatro Morelos of Morelia, Michoacán on 14 October 2016. 31 contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title. Two winners were crowned in the end of the event, Miss World Mexico 2016/Miss Mexico 2016 and Miss World Mexico 2017/Miss Mexico 2017. Ana Girault of Ciudad de México was crowned as the titleholder for 2016 and Andrea Meza of Chihuahua was crowned as the titleholder for 2017. Ana Girault represented Mexico at Miss World 2016 in the United States. Andrea Meza represented the country at Miss World 2017 in China.
