Andkhoy may refer to:
Afghan Turkestan, also known as Southern Turkestan, is a region in northern Afghanistan, on the border with the former Soviet republics of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. In the 19th century, there was a province in Afghanistan named Turkestan with Mazar-e Sharif as provincial capital. The province incorporated the territories of the present-day provinces of Balkh, Kunduz, Jowzjan, Sar-e Pol, and Faryab. In 1890, Qataghan-Badakhshan Province was separated from Turkestan Province. It was later abolished by Abdur Rahman.
Transport in Afghanistan is done mostly by road, rail and air. Much of the nation's road network was built in the mid-20th century but left to ruin during the last two decades of that century due to war and political turmoil. Officials of the current Islamic Emirate have continued to improve the national highways, roads, and bridges. In 2008, there were about 700,000 vehicles registered in Kabul. Faryab is one of the thirty-four provinces of Afghanistan, which is located in the north of the country bordering neighboring Turkmenistan. It has a population of about 1,109,223, which is multi-ethnic and mostly a tribal society. The province encompasses 15 districts and over 1,000 villages. The capital of Faryab province is Maymana. It also borders Jowzjan Province, Sar-e Pol Province, Ghor Province and Badghis Province.
Maymana is the capital city of Faryab Province in northwestern Afghanistan, near the Afghanistan–Turkmenistan border. It is approximately 400 km (250 mi) northwest of the country's capital Kabul, and is located on the Maymana River, which is a tributary of the Murghab River. The population of Maymana was 149,040 in 2015, making it one of the largest cities of northwestern Afghanistan.
Andkhoy is a city in the northern part of Afghanistan, which has a population of about 47,857 people. They include all the major ethnic groups of the country. The city serves as the capital of Andkhoy District in the Faryab Province. It is around 35 kilometres (22 mi) of driving distance southwest from the Aqina–Imamnazar border crossing between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. There is also a rail station in the city, which was recently opened for import and export purposes with neighboring Turkmenistan. The Sheberghan Airfield in neighboring Jowzjan Province is the closest airport to Andkhoy.

Qurghan is a district in Faryab province, Afghanistan. It was created in 2005 from the western part of Andkhoy District. The district center Qurghan is very close to Andkhoy at 317 m altitude.
Almar is a district in the southwestern part of Faryab province, Afghanistan. Its northern border is the national border with Turkmenistan. The population was estimated at 150,000 in 2013. Ethnic diversity includes 35% Turkmen and 65% Pashtun.
Khwaja Sabz Posh is the district where the Faryab province capital Maymana is located. It is a rural district without its own capital. The Khwaja Sabz Posh district is the closest district to the north of Maymana city. Khoja Sabz Posh is the name of a deceased village elder who was famous for always wearing the color green. There is a shrine dedicated to him on a hilltop just north of the Bazaar. It contains 85 villages. Ethnic diversity includes 80% Uzbek, 10% Pashtun and 10% Tajik.
Qaramqol district is located south of Andkhoy District in the northern part of Faryab province. with an ethnic composition of 5% Pashtun, 35% Uzbek and 60% Turkman. The district center Qaram Qũl is close to the town of Andkhoy.
Shibirghan is a district situated in the southern part of Jowzjan province in Afghanistan. It borders Faryab province to the west, Khwaja du koh District to the north, Aqcha District to the east and Sar-e Pol province. The population is 188,808 (2019). The center is the provincial capital Sheberghan. There are main roads from the district center towards Herat, Kabul, Andkhoy and Mazari Sharif. Sheberghan airfield is situated between Sheberghan and Aqchah.
Afghanistan has three railway lines in the north of the country. The first is between Mazar-i-Sharif and the border town of Hairatan in Balkh province, which then connects with Uzbek Railways of Uzbekistan. The second links Torghundi in Herat province with Turkmen Railways of Turkmenistan. The third is between Turkmenistan and Aqina in Faryab province of Afghanistan, which extends south to the city of Andkhoy. The country currently lacks a passenger rail service, but a new rail link from Herat to Khaf in Iran for both cargo and passengers was recently completed. Passenger service is also proposed in Hairatan – Mazar-i-Sharif section and Mazar-i-Sharif – Aqina section.
The Afghan Border Force (ABF) was responsible for security of Afghanistan's border area with neighboring countries extending up to 30 miles (48 km) into the interior and formed part of the Afghan National Army. In December 2017, most of the Afghan Border Police (ABP) personnel of the Afghan National Police were transferred to the Afghan National Army to form the Afghan Border Force. The ABP retained 4,000 personnel for customs operations at border crossings and international airports such as checking documents of foreigners entering the country or deporting them.

It has a train station by the same name, which serves as the second rail service between Afghanistan and neighboring Turkmenistan. Aqina is located in the northern part of Khani Chahar Bagh District, directly adjacent to the border with Turkmenistan.
The Shirin Tagab River is a river in Afghanistan, which travels 320 kilometres (200 mi) before ending in an inland delta around Andkhoi. The river's watershed has 504 settlements with a population of 605,972, and covers the majority of Faryab Province. Downstream, the river is brackish/saltwater. In addition, the river is a source of water-borne diseases.
