Andrew Batterley (born 27 November 1976) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and right-arm off-break bowler who played for Cheshire. He was born in Leigh, Greater Manchester.
Batterley made two appearances for the team in the 2002 Minor Counties Championship, and a single List A appearance in the C&G Trophy in August 2002.
Between 2003 and 2006, Batterley played for Leigh in the National Club Championship and later the Cockspur Cup.

Robert James Beswick is a former rugby league footballer who played as a hooker or loose forward. He started his professional career in 2004 with the Wigan Warriors in the Super League. He left the club in 2006 and spent the next ten seasons in the Championship with the Widnes Vikings, Halifax and the Leigh Centurions. In 2017, Beswick joined the Toronto Wolfpack and played in the club's inaugural league game before finishing his career with Newcastle Thunder. Beswick also represented at Ireland at international level, and was capped 26 times between 2006 and 2019.

He currently serves as the Assistant Minister for Competition, Charities and Treasury. He briefly served as the Parliamentary Secretary to Prime Minister Julia Gillard in 2013 and then served as Shadow Assistant Treasurer from 2013 to 2019. He has been a Labor member of the Australian House of Representatives since 2010 representing the seat of Fraser until 2016 and Fenner thereafter. Leigh is not a member of any factions of the Labor Party.
Leigh Michael Broxham is an Australian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Melbourne Victory in the A-League. As of May 2021, he currently holds the record for most appearances for Melbourne Victory, playing 427 times across multiple competitions. Broxham is one of the A-league's most decorated players having played in all of Melbourne Victory's title-winning sides including four championships, three premierships and two FFA Cups. A natural defensive midfielder, Broxham nicknamed "Broxjajlovic", Lord Broxenbauer or simply "The Brox" can also play as an attacking midfielder, central midfielder, brox to brox midfielder, centre back, left back or right back. Broxham was named captain of Melbourne Victory at the commencement of the 2021 A-League season.
James "Jim"/"Jimmy" Ledgard was an English rugby union and World Cup winning professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, and coached rugby league in the 1960s. He played club level rugby union (RU) for Sandal RUFC, and representative level rugby league (RL) for Great Britain, England and Yorkshire, and at club level for Dewsbury, and Leigh, as a goal-kicking fullback, i.e. number 1, and coached at club level for Bradford Northern.
Thomas Martyn is a former Ireland international rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s, and coached in the 2000s. He played at representative level for Ireland, and at club level for Oldham, St. Helens in the Championship, and, subsequently, Super League and Leigh, as a stand-off. Martyn was known for his very good passing ability and vision. He was able to enjoy a successful rugby career despite undergoing two knee reconstructions.

After retiring as a player, Rowley began a coaching career and was appointed head coach of Leigh in 2012, leading the club to Championship titles in 2014 and 2015 before departing at the beginning of the 2016 season. He subsequently was the head coach of the Toronto Wolfpack in the Betfred Championship.
