Anne of Green Gables is a 1908 novel by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery. Written for all ages, it has been considered a classic children's novel since the mid-twentieth century. Set in the late 19th century, the novel recounts the adventures of Anne Shirley, an 11-year-old orphan girl, who is mistakenly sent to two middle-aged siblings; Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, originally intending to adopt a boy to help them on their farm in the fictional town of Avonlea on Prince Edward Island. The novel recounts how Anne makes her way through life with the Cuthberts, in school, and within the town.

The Diary of a Young Girl, also known as The Diary of Anne Frank, is a book of the writings from the Dutch language diary kept by Anne Frank while she was in hiding for two years with her family during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. The family was apprehended in 1944, and Anne Frank died of typhus in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945. The diary was retrieved by Miep Gies, who gave it to Anne's father, Otto Frank, the family's only known survivor, just after the war was over. The diary has since been published in more than 60 languages.
Queen Anne's Revenge was an early-18th-century ship, most famously used as a flagship by the pirate Blackbeard. Although the date and place of the ship's construction are uncertain, it is believed she was built for merchant service in Bristol in 1710 and named Concord. One year later she was captured by the French and renamed La Concorde. After several years' service with the French, she was captured by Blackbeard and his pirates in 1717. Blackbeard used the ship for less than a year, but captured numerous prizes using her as his flagship.

Saint Anne's on the Sea is a town in the Borough of Fylde, Lancashire, England. It contains 20 listed buildings that are recorded in the National Heritage List for England. Of these, one is listed at Grade II*, the middle of the three grades, and the others are at Grade II, the lowest grade. Until the 1870s the only buildings in the area now occupied by the town were scatted cottages. In 1873 the architects Maxwell and Tuke were appointed to draw up a plan for the development of the town. This has since grown to become a seaside resort and commuter town. The listed buildings include churches and associated structures, public buildings, a hotel and its boundary wall, memorials, a bank, and a former school. The structures relating to the town's function as a resort are a pier, a pavilion and shelters, and a bandstand.
