Antena 3 Noticias ("Antena 3 News") is the brand for Spanish broadcaster Antena 3's news programmes.

Programme format

The programme is generally presented by two newsreaders, with additional newsreaders for the sport. Most items will be made up of reports and are generally preceded and followed by the correspondent reporting live (Directo) from the scene of the report. The programme is followed by a weather report known as El Tiempo. The entire running time including commercial breaks and El Tiempo is one hour.

Broadcast times

The programme is broadcast three times daily with each of the broadcasts being numbered (e.g. Antena 3 Noticias de la Mañana, Antena 3 Noticias 2 etc.) The flagship evening programme goes out head to head with the programme Telediario on rival public network TVE.

Telediario (Tele-journal) is the flagship television newscast produced by Televisión Española (TVE), the television division of Spanish state-owned public broadcaster Radiotelevisión Española (RTVE). It is the longest running program in the history of television in Spain as it has been broadcast daily since 15 September 1957.

La Sexta is a privately owned Spanish free-to-air television channel that was founded on 18 March 2001 as Beca TV and began broadcasting on 1 April 2001. By 21 July 2003, the channel ran into debt and was shut down, but two years later in 2005, it was replaced by a new channel called La Sexta that began test transmissions on 25 November 2005, and a year later, it started broadcasting officially on 27 March 2006. Sandra Golpe Cantalejo is a Spanish journalist working on the Antena 3 Noticias television programme broadcast on Antena 3. She began her journalistic career interning at the local newspaper Diario de Cádiz before working for local television broadcaster Canal 7 and then for Cadena COPE as a weekend editor, producer and reporter.

María Helena Resano Lizaldre is a Spanish journalist who works for LaSexta. Her professional journalistic career began as an editor for the radio broadcaster Cadena SER. Resano presented a weekly programme on Pamplona Televisión before joining Radio Nacional de España in Madrid on a scholarship in 1995 and then at Telecinco between 1996 and 1999. She worked at Televisión Española from 1999 to 2006, first for 24 Horas as an editor and reporter, news bulletins on TVE1 and presenting the current affairs programme 59 Segundos. Resano has worked for LaSexa since 2006, presenting the afternoon La Sexta Noticias news bulletin as well as fronting other current affair programmes for the broadcaster.

She began her media career broadcasting the Los 40 Principales radio programme when she was 17 years old and went on to join the Basque regional public service broadcaster EITB, presenting multiple programmes for it. Gaztañaga presented more than 1,500 episodes of the weekday Antena 3 afternoon show Patricia's Diary between 2001 and 2008 as well as other various short-lived programmes on the channel.
