Apollon Athienou was a Cypriot football club based in Athienou. The team was playing sometimes in Second and in Third Division. In 1972 merged with Othellos Athienou F.C. keeping the name Othellos.

Athienou is a village in Larnaca District, Cyprus. It is one of only four villages located within the United Nations Buffer Zone, the other three being Pyla, Troulloi and Deneia. Today, Athienou has a population of around 5,000 people and since 1990 has been home to Davidson College's Athienou Archaeological Project. The town's city hall includes a museum of local history and culture that was established in 2008.

The Cypriot Second Division is the second highest football division of the Cypriot football league system. Administrated by the Cyprus Football Association, is contested by 14 teams, with the top three teams promoted to the Cypriot First Division and the last three teams relegated to the Cypriot Third Division.
