April Phillips is an American basketball coach and former player who is the former head coach of the San Jose State Spartans women's basketball team. [1]

On April 6, 2022, Phillips was hired as head coach at San Jose State University. [2] On March 24, 2025 Phillips was dismissed from San Jose State. She amassed a record of 23-71 (.245) over her three seasons of coaching. [3]

Early life and playing career

A native of Long Beach, California and graduate of Long Beach Polytechnic High School, Phillips attended Georgia Tech where she was played on the women's basketball team for one year, before transferring to Xavier in 2006. [4] [5]
