Armando Teixeira (born 1968 in Lisbon) is a Portuguese musician and record producer. [1] He has worked with a variety of projects within a wide scope of genres.
Teixeira is a former member of indie rock bands Ik Mux and Boris Ex-Machina, as well as the hip hop group Da Weasel and industrial metal band Bizarra Locomotiva. More recently, Teixeira has been involved with his solo projects Balla and Bulllet, where he worked with Kalaf, Nel'Assassin of Micro and The Legendary Tigerman.

One of the most prolific switch hitters in MLB history, Teixeira was an integral part of the Yankees' 27th World Series championship in 2009, leading the American League (AL) in home runs and runs batted in (RBI) while finishing second in the Most Valuable Player Award (MVP) balloting. Teixeira was a three-time All-Star, won five Gold Glove Awards and three Silver Slugger Awards, and holds the major-league record for most games with a home run from both sides of the plate, with 14. He was the fifth switch hitter in MLB history to reach 400 home runs.
Da Weasel are a Portuguese hip hop/rap rock band from Almada, fronted by MCs Pacman and Virgul. They are one of the oldest hip-hop projects in Portugal, having been formed in 1993 and terminated in 2010, and known for being a full session band, instead of relying on a DJ and samples. The band announced their reunion in 2019. Their music uses elements from hard rock, pop and ska.

Balla (musician) is the musical alter-ego of Portuguese musician and record producer Armando Teixeira (musician). Balla's music references the sound and style of Serge Gainsbourg and Jaques Brel, combined with hip hop and cut-and-paste references drawn from his time as DJ and producer with both Bizarra Locomotiva and the platinum selling Da Weasel. The arrangements have been described as "reflecting a taste for sound composers like Barry Adamson". Armando Teixeira is recognized as a composer, musician and producer of note within Portugal, and his 2006 studio album A Grande Mentira has been described by Portuguese public radio station Antena 3 as "pop, electronica, eroticism and fury". "In this space, I have adopted the solitary writing of a Nick Cave or Iggy Pop" Balla has said of his own work. When asked if Balla was the summary of his years spent in Bizarra Locomotiva or Da Weasel, he responded "Probably, yes... Any of these bands were very closed, while Balla represents freedom. I am able to experiment a lot. Here there is a little bit of everything that I have done."
