Ashburton is an affluent suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 12 km (7.5 mi) southeast of Melbourne's Central Business District. Its local government area is the City of Boroondara. At the 2016 census, Ashburton had a population of 7,751.

Ashburton Railway Station is located on the Alamein line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the eastern Melbourne suburb of Ashburton, opening as Norwood on 30 May 1890, and was renamed Ashburton on 12 December 1890. It was part of the first section of the Outer Circle line.

Ashburton or Hakatere (Māori) is a large town in the Canterbury Region, on the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand. The town is the seat of the Ashburton District, a territorial authority encompassing the town and a number of small settlements within its surrounding rural area, roughly coterminous with the subregion of Mid Canterbury. It is 85 kilometres (53 mi) south west of Christchurch and is sometimes regarded as a satellite town of Christchurch.

Ashburton Aerodrome is a small airport 2 NM to the east of Ashburton township on the east coast of the South Island, New Zealand. Newmans Air operated a Christchurch to Queenstown service via Ashburton in the 1980s which allowed skiers to connect to the nearby skifield of Mt. Hutt. Currently there are no scheduled services operating to Ashburton.

Ashburton County was one of the counties of New Zealand in the South Island.

Ashburton is a small town on the south-southeastern edge of Dartmoor in Devon, England, adjacent to the A38. The town is 20 miles northeast of Plymouth and 17 miles southwest of Exeter.

Ashburton was a borough constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament at Westminster, for one Parliament in 1298 and regularly from 1640 until it was abolished for the 1868 general election. It was one of three Devon borough constituencies newly enfranchised in the Long Parliament. It returned two Members of Parliament until the 1832 general election when the number was reduced to one MP.
