Atharva is a 2018 Indian Kannada-language action drama film written and directed by Arun. The film stars Pavan Teja and Sanam Shetty in the lead roles. It was released on 13 July 2018.

Director Arun had written the story in 2013 and approached producer Vinay Kumar and co-producer Rakshay to support the project. Pavan Teja, a nephew of an actor Arjun Sarja, was cast in the lead role to make his acting debut. Prior to working on the film, he had acted in theatre shows, and readied himself to play three different avatars in the film by losing 15 kilograms. [1] Sanam Shetty, who had appeared in other regional South Indian films, made her first appearance in a Kannada-language project through Atharva. [2] [3] The film was shot for 65 days starting in October 2017 in areas including Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Chickmagaluru, Mandya, and Kanakapura. [4]

Release and reception

The film released on 13 July 2018. A critic from The Times of India noted, "Arun has used the tried-and-tested, love-and-action formula without strong content", giving the film a mixed review. [5] A reviewer from Chitratara.com noted "for the arrival of new hero Pawan Teja and some delectable scenes, this film is worth watching". [6]

Prema Baraha, titled Sollividava in Tamil, is a 2018 Indian romantic drama film written and directed by Arjun Sarja. It was produced by his wife Niveditha Arjun under his home studio of Sree Raam Films International, and made simultaneously in Kannada and Tamil languages. The film stars Chandan Kumar and Aishwarya Arjun, with different ensemble casts for the two versions. Jassie Gift composed the soundtrack and score. H. C. Venugopal was director of photography and Kay Kay edited the film. The two versions of the film were released worldwide on 9 February 2018. During its release, this film had a grand opening and it became a commercial success at the box office of Karnataka, but had a decent run in Tamil.

HaraHara Mahadeva is a Kannada mythological television series based on legends of Lord Shiva, also known as Mahadeva. It is airing on the newly named Star Suvarna channel from 25 July 2016. Star Suvarna, the 4th largest Kannada channel in India, is funding this serial with the largest regional market budget of Rs.60 crore. It is remake of Hindi serial Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev and dubbed in Telugu and Tamil languages. It has several nominations for the Suvarna Film Awards. Ajay Devgan said it was a "visual treat" and had many untold stories of Lord Mahadeva. This big budget serial is based on the work by Devdutt Pattanaik. It has aired over 300 episodes and Karthik Parak, head of regional branch programming at Star Suvarna plans to extend it to 500 episodes.

Niveditha Arjun is an Indian actress, producer and dancer. After making her acting debut with M. S. Rajashekar's Kannada Movie Ratha Sapthami (1986) under the stagename of Asha Rani, she opted against an acting career and continued pursuing her passion as a dancer and also worked as a producer with Sree Raam Films International. The daughter of actor Rajesh, Niveditha is married to actor Arjun Sarja and is the mother of actress Aishwarya Arjun.

Vilaasam (transl. Address) is a 2014 Indian Tamil-language action drama film written and directed by Pa. Rajaganesan. The film stars Pawan and Sanam Shetty in the lead roles. It was released on 14 November 2014, and was later dubbed and released in Telugu under the same name.

Premikudu is a 2016 Indian Telugu-language romantic drama film written and directed by Kala Sundeep. The film stars Maanas and Sanam Shetty in the lead roles. It was released on 17 June 2016.
