The Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Freshman of the Year is an annual award given to the best head coach in the Atlantic Coast Conference during the NCAA Division I men's soccer season. The award has been given since 1990.
Notable winners of the award include: Claudio Reyna (who captained the United States men's national soccer team from 1998 to 2007), Jay Heaps (known for his association with the New England Revolution as player and as coach), Paul Stalteri (Canadian regular, spending most of his career in Germany, most notably with Werder Bremen), Kyle Martino (better known as a color commentator for NBC Sports), and Patrick Mullins (two-time Hermann Trophy winner).
The Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year is an award given to the men's basketball player in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) voted as the most outstanding player. It has been presented since the league's first season, 1953–54, by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association, and beginning in 2012–13 has also been presented in separate voting by the league's head coaches. The award was first given to Dickie Hemric of Wake Forest, and the coaches' award was first presented in 2013 to Shane Larkin of Miami.

Prior to 2004, the award had been known as the Men's Soccer Player of the Year, but in 2003 the award split into the Men's Offensive and Defensive Categories. The award has been given since 1970. Notable winners of the award include current and former professionals, Henry Gutierrez, Mike Fisher, Charlie Davies, Alejandro Bedoya, Kyle Martino and Jack Harrison. The ACC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year award is currently held by Shakur Mohammed, who won the award as a sophomore with Duke, while the ACC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year award is currently held by Andreas Ueland, who won the award as a Senior with Virginia.

They play home games at Riggs Field. This was the team's 57th season playing organized men's college soccer and their 30th playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Tigers finished with a record of 12–6–1 and an ACC record of 4–4–0. The Tigers lost in the Semifinals of the ACC tournament to eventual champions Wake Forest. They were selected to participate in the NCAA Tournament for the fifth year in a row. However, they lost to Coastal Carolina in the second round.
