The Australasian College of Pharmacy (ACP) provides professional education for the pharmacy industry in Australia and New Zealand and has done so for over 40 years. Members of the college are entitled to use the postnominal MACP, Associate Fellows AFACP, while Fellows of the college use FACP.
The Australasian College of Pharmacy was established in 1976 as the Australian Institute of Pharmacy Management (AIPM). The college has absorbed The Australian College of Pharmacy Practice (ACPP) in 2004 and The Australasian Compounders Association in 2011. In 2020, the college transitioned from the Australian to the Australasian College of Pharmacy; expanding its educational offering throughout the region. The College is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Pharmacy Guild, Queensland Branch.
The college is governed by an eight-member board who are elected by college members. The Australasian College of Pharmacy Pty Ltd is a private company limited by shares held entirely by the Pharmacy Guild of Australia (Queensland Branch), as its parent entity.
The educational offering of the college is overseen by an Academic Board. The role of the Academic Board is to act as ACP's Accreditation Committee; oversee the development of the college's academic activities in order to maintain the academic standard of all educational modules supplied by the college, ensuring currency and relevancy; and advise ACP Board on education policy matters.
The college is one of the profession's limited number of training organisations registered with the Commonwealth of Australia's Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations. National Training Information Service College Registration.

The college offers an accredited Medication Management Review Stage 1 course that enables graduates to apply for the Association of Australian Consultant Pharmacists' (AACP) Stage 2 accreditation. Pharmacists wanting to increase or update their pharmacotherapeutic and pathophysiological knowledge may be interested in enrolling in Patient Care modules; each module is based around a major organ group, e.g. cardiovascular and renal therapeutics. Pharmacists wishing to complete a set number of units may qualify for the Award of 'Fellow by Examination' of the college.

A Doctor of Pharmacy is a professional doctorate degree. In some countries, it is a proficient graduate degree to practice the profession of pharmacy or to become a clinical pharmacist. In many countries, people with their Doctor of Pharmacy are allowed to practice independently and can prescribe over-the-counter drugs directly to patients that doesn't require prescription in other countries. A PharmD program has significant experiential and/or clinical education components in introductory and advanced levels for the safe and effective use of drugs. Experiential education prepares graduates to be practice-ready, as they already have spent a significant amount of time training in areas of direct patient care and research.

The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) is a professional organisation of Australian pharmacists. PSA is the peak national body for pharmacists, representing the pharmacy profession and the 37,000 pharmacists in Australia, with approximately 18,000 members. PSA is the major provider of continuing professional development programmes for pharmacists in Australia. PSA also organises various pharmacy events including a national conference attended by over 1,200 delegates from around Australia and internationally. PSA publishes the Australian Pharmaceutical Formulary, the Australian Pharmacist journal, and various other pharmacy publications.
A consultant pharmacist is a pharmacist who works as a consultant providing expert advice on clinical pharmacy, academic pharmacy or practice, public health pharmacy, industrial pharmacy, community pharmacy or practice, pharmaceutical analysis etc., regarding the safe use and production of medications or on the provision of pharmaceutical services to medical institutions, hospitals, universities, research institutions, medical practices and individual patients.
The Master of Pharmacy is a postgraduate degree in pharmacy, awarded upon the completion of postgraduate coursework or an integrated undergraduate-postgraduate curriculum. Typically, this program lasts for four to five years.
A Bachelor of Pharmacy is a graduate academic degree in the field of pharmacy. In many countries, this degree is a prerequisite for registration to practice as a pharmacist. Since both PharmB and PharmD are prerequisites to license in most western countries they're considered equivalent. In many western countries, the foreign graduates with BPharm, PharmB or BS Pharm practice similarly as PharmD graduates. It is analogous to MBBS vs. MD where MBBS is foreign equivalent of MD. It is training to understand the properties and impacts of medicines and developing the skills required to counsel patients about their use.
The Appalachian College of Pharmacy (ACP), formerly known as the University of Appalachia, College of Pharmacy, is a private doctoral pharmacy school located in Oakwood, Virginia. The school, established in 2003, is Virginia's only three-year accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy program. ACP's mission is to improve the health outcomes of rural and underserved communities, particularly those in Central Appalachia, through education, service, and scholarship.
Clinical pharmacy is the branch of pharmacy in which clinical pharmacists provide direct patient care that optimizes the use of medication and promotes health, wellness, and disease prevention. Clinical pharmacists care for patients in all health care settings but the clinical pharmacy movement initially began inside hospitals and clinics. Clinical pharmacists often work in collaboration with physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals. Clinical pharmacists can enter into a formal collaborative practice agreement with another healthcare provider, generally one or more physicians, that allows pharmacists to prescribe medications and order laboratory tests.
