The Avon Lake Chorale, under the direction of Michael Lisi, is the foundation of the Avon Lake High School Choral Music Department. William G. Zurkey retired from the position in 2013. Avon Lake is a city in the state of Ohio of approximately 25,000 (as of the 2005 census [1] ) people located 17 miles (27 km) west of Cleveland off the shores of Lake Erie.
The Chorale, the highest choir at Avon Lake High School, is a select 100 member ensemble made up of high school juniors, seniors, and select sophomores. In addition to earning numerous superior ratings at Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) State Contests, Regional, and National Choral Festivals, the Chorale has been a featured choir at the Kodaly Music Educator's Association Central Regional Convention in Cleveland, Carnegie Hall in New York City, and the Mad River Choral Festival at Wright State University. They have performed at The Royal Academy of Music, Glasgow, Scotland; St. Paul's Cathedral, London; St. Giles' Cathedral, Edinburgh, Scotland; Orchestra Hall, Chicago; Cleveland State University, Kent State University, Ohio University, Westminster College, Pennsylvania; and Riverside Cathedral in New York. The Chorale also performs regularly with the Cleveland Pops Orchestra under the direction of Carl Topilow.
The Avon Lake Chorale performed at the OMEA Annual Professional Conference in 1995, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006, and 2012.
An elite subset of the choir was formed when two ensembles were merged (The Mermen and The Mermaids) forming the Merpeople, later shortened to Merples. The Merples are a 16-member group that performs many public and private concerts, especially during the holiday season. The ensemble is highly praised, and has even been on all local Cleveland television stations (WKYC, WEWS, WOIO, and WJW). Traditionally, on Valentine's Day the Merples perform "Merplegrams", as requested by students, to other students for a small fee. Students may purchase a "Merplegram" for their boyfriend, girlfriend, friend, and even teachers and administrators.

West Bloomfield High School is a public secondary school in West Bloomfield, Michigan. The school is the only public high school in the West Bloomfield School District. The School Enrollment for the 2010-2011 school year is about 1900. West Bloomfield High School was previously located in the Abbott Middle School building, which opened on January 31, 1955 with an enrollment of 406. From fall 1968 through spring 1971, the school was temporarily located at the site of the current Orchard Lake Middle School. The current building was built in 1971. West Bloomfield High School has begun to offer the Advanced Placement International Diploma to the classes of 2011 and beyond. In addition, it established additional Advanced Placement courses starting the 2010-2011 school year.

Dr. Brady Allred is an American conductor of choral and orchestral music who currently serves as the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Salt Lake Choral Artists, a regional choir organization with five choirs with a total of approximately 350 singers.

The Shawnee Mission East Choraliers are a mixed chorus of more than 150 student singers, grades 10-12, at Shawnee Mission East High School in Prairie Village, Kansas. The choir has performed in churches, cathedrals, schools, recitals and concert halls throughout Europe, singing from Galway to Rome and Leipzig to London. The choir has performed at Carnegie Hall, Cologne Cathedral in Cologne, Germany, Great St. Mary's Cathedral in Cambridge, the Pantheon and at the Thomaskirche, a church in Leipzig, Germany where Johann Sebastian Bach held the position of cantor.
Jo-Michael Scheibe chairs the Thornton School of Music’s Department of Choral and Sacred Music at the University of Southern California, where he conducts the USC Chamber Singers, teaches choral conducting and choral methods, and supervises the graduate and undergraduate choral program. In 2008, he assumed a new post as National President Elect of the American Choral Directors’ Association. No stranger to the ACDA, Scheibe previously served as the organization’s Western Division President (1991–1993), as well as National Repertoire and Standards Chairperson for Community Colleges (1980–1989). Ensembles under his leadership have sung at six national ACDA conventions, as well as two national conventions of the Music Educators National Conference, and various regional and state conventions.

Andrew Keith Wailes is an Australian conductor and music director. Winner of the Australasian International Choral Conducting Competition in Brisbane in 1999, he is the current Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra, Artistic Director of The Australian Children's Choir, Principal Conductor of the Melbourne University Choral Society, Music Director and Conductor of the Box Hill Chorale, and Director of the Australian Catholic University Melbourne Campus Choir. He is a former President of the Australian Intervarsity Choral Societies Association, and currently is Artistic Administrator of The Chamber Strings of Melbourne.
