Back Cove, Fogo, Newfoundland and Labrador

Back Cove is a small fishing village on Fogo Island, in the Fogo District. This place is separated from Fogo by a small neck of land. It had a population of 59 in 1956.

The average depth is nine feet and the maximum depth is 13 feet (4.0 m). The pond is fed by groundwater springs and drains into the Agawam River. Halfway Pond Island lies in the middle of the pond and is managed as a research natural area by The Nature Conservancy in Massachusetts. There are almost three miles (5 km) of shoreline.

It has a variety of historical collections covering the life of Bartholomew Seeker, as well as other individuals associated with the Canadian Flat Earth Society, and a series of more contemporary displays which deal with debates around the notion of a Flat Earth.
