The following is the qualification system and qualified countries for the Basque pelota at the 2023 Pan American Games competitions.
A total of 66 athletes (33 per gender) will qualify to compete. Each nation may enter a maximum of 12 athletes (six per gender). The host country (Chile) automatically qualified a full team of 12 athletes. There will be a total of two qualification events. The best ranked country of the Americas in each event of the Biarritz 2022 Absolute World Basque Pelota Championship will secure a spot. The second event is the 2023 Pan American Basque Pelota Tournament, in which 21 men and 21 women will be qualified. [1]

Basque pelota is the name for a variety of court sports played with a ball using one's hand, a racket, a wooden bat or a basket, against a wall or, more traditionally, with two teams face to face separated by a line on the ground or a net. The roots of this class of games can be traced to the Greek and other ancient cultures.
Basque Pelota was a demonstration sport at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris. It was the second time that the sport was included in the Olympic program; it was an official Olympic sport at the 1900 Games that were also held in Paris. It would be included as a demonstration in another two occasions at the 1968 Games in Mexico City and the 1992 Games in Barcelona.
The International Federation of Basque Pelota is the worldwide governing body for Basque pelota, recognized by the International Olympic Committee. It sets the regulations for international competition and organizes the competitions.
A fronton is a two-walled or single-walled court used as a playing area for Basque pelota.
