Bass-D&King Matthew is a Dutch hardcore techno and gabber duo from Bussum. Made up of Eugenio Dorwart (Bass-D) and Matthijs Hazeleger (King Matthew), they are the co-founders of the Masters of Hardcore. [1]
Eugenio Dorwart began his career playing for Bussum, Netherlands, when he was only 14 years old. Matthijs Hazeleger was invited to a house radio show where he met Eugenio for the first time, they decided to mix together; this is when the duo was formed. [2]
In 1993, Bloody Cow Records and Bad Vibes Records signed with Bass-D & King Matthew, they decided to create their own label, Inferno Records. [3]
In 2000, Bass-D and King Matthew collaborated with DJ The Prophet to release an EP entitled "Get Retarded". In 2002, they released the fifth part of their compilation "In the Mix", which reached number 12 in the Dutch charts. [4]
On March 3, 2014, an evening called A Night with Bass-D was organized with DJ Korsakoff. [5] On March 25, 2017, they participated in The Skull Dynasty edition of the Masters of Hardcore festival, alongside more than 70 artists such as DJ Mad Dog, Tha Playah, Darkraver and Radical Redemption. [6]
Dutch hip hop or Nederhop ("Netherhop") is hip hop / rap music created by Dutch speaking musicians in the Netherlands and Flanders (Belgium). Although the first Dutch rappers in Europe typically wrote in the English language, this began to change when Osdorp Posse gained a big following of fans. They were the first to record and release hip hop in the Dutch language, perform for big crowds and to achieve chart success with their albums.
Hardcore is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany in the early 1990s. It is distinguished by faster tempos and a distorted sawtooth kick, the intensity of the kicks and the synthesized bass, the rhythm and the atmosphere of the themes, the usage of saturation and experimentation close to that of industrial dance music. It would spawn subgenres such as gabber.

The Stadium Techno Experience is the ninth studio album by German hard dance group Scooter. Three singles were released from it: "Weekend!", "The Night" and a remix of "Maria " featuring Marc Acardipane and Dick Rules. Its artwork is an homage to the 1991 album The White Room by The KLF. It is the first album featuring Jay Frog. In the United Kingdom, The Stadium Techno Experience became Scooter's second studio album in the top 40 after Our Happy Hardcore (1996).
At the Speed of Life is the debut studio album by American rapper Xzibit. It was released on October 15, 1996, through Loud/RCA Records. The recording sessions took place at Tha Concentration Camp and The Compound in Los Angeles and Ameraycan Studios in North Hollywood. The album was produced by Craig Sherrad, E-Swift, Thayod Ausar, Diamond D, DJ Muggs, DJ Pen One, and Saafir. It features guest appearances from Hurricane G, J-Ro, King T, Ras Kass, Saafir, Tash and Ron Hightower.
Masters of Hardcore is the name of a Dutch hardcore music label and of its related music festival events.

"One Love" is a song by British electronic music act the Prodigy, released on 4 October 1993 by XL Recordings as the first single from the act's second album, Music for the Jilted Generation (1994). The song peaked at number eight on the UK Singles Chart and number five on the UK Dance Singles Chart. It was also a top 30 hit in Sweden and Switzerland.
Thunderdome is a concept in hardcore techno and gabber music that was mainly used for a series of parties and CD albums. It was organized by the Dutch entertainment company ID&T. The first party was organized in 1992 and the party held in December 2012 was advertised as being the end of Thunderdome. The party was brought back in 2017 for the 25th anniversary with a 2019 edition announced the following year. In 2022, Thunderdome celebrated its 30th anniversary at the Jaarbeurs convention centre, Utrecht.
"State of Independence" is a song written by Jon Anderson and Vangelis. The track was released as a single but did not chart. It subsequently became better known when Donna Summer released a cover version a year later in 1982. That became a top 20 UK hit single and a number one hit in the Netherlands. In 1992, a third version of the song — retitled "Spiritual High " — was recorded and released as a single by Moodswings, with vocals by the Pretenders lead singer Chrissie Hynde.
Forget the World is the debut studio album by Dutch music producer and DJ Afrojack. It was released on 16 May 2014. Afrojack said of the album title, "It's basically a message not just to my fans, but also to myself, to always remember to keep following your heart, keep following your path, and never try to let the things around you get you down."
"I Wanna Be a Hippy" is a song by English electronic music group Technohead. The vocals were taken from David Peel's song "I Like Marijuana", which he sang in the 1989 movie Rude Awakening. It first appeared as the B-side to the group's Mary Jane EP, issued by Dutch hardcore techno label Mokum Records. John Peel featured the track "Mary Jane" on his show on 10 February 1995, which helped give the release recognition.
"Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime" is a 1980 single written by James Warren and first performed by British pop band the Korgis, with Warren as the lead singer. It has subsequently been covered by numerous other artists.
Frank Nitzinsky, better known by his stage name, Eye-D, is a Dutch drum & bass producer and DJ based in Goes, The Netherlands. He is one-half of hardcore duo, The Outside Agency, alongside DJ Hidden.
Hardcore Will Never Die, but You Will is the seventh studio album by Scottish post-rock band Mogwai, released on 14 February 2011 by Rock Action Records.
Yellow Claw is a Dutch DJ and record production duo from Amsterdam consisting of Jim Taihuttu, based in Bali, and Nils Rondhuis, based in Amsterdam. The duo's music is a mix of a wide range of genres and often incorporates elements from trap, hip hop, dubstep, hardstyle and moombahton.
"Ultra Flava" is a house song by British duo Heller and Farley Project. After the wide renown with their remix of Ultra Naté's "How Long" in 1994 and M People's "Open Your Heart" in 1995, they released it as a single in 1996. It is a slightly re-worked version of their mix of "How Long", without Naté's vocals. They entitled it "Ultra Flava" as a nod to the track's origins. It was a huge club hit and peaked at number 22 on the UK Singles Chart, while reaching number-one on the UK Dance Singles Chart. In the US, it peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. A black-and-white music video was also produced to promote the single.
"Heatstroke" is a song by Scottish DJ and producer Calvin Harris featuring American musicians Young Thug, Pharrell Williams, and Ariana Grande. It is the second single from Harris's fifth studio album, Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 (2017). It was released on 31 March 2017 through Sony Music, following "Slide".
"Fairytales" is a song by Dutch Eurodance group 2 Brothers on the 4th Floor featuring rapper D-Rock and singer Des'Ray. It was released in 1996 by Lowland Records and CNR Music as the third single from the group's second album, 2 (1996). In their native Netherlands, the song peaked at number four, while entering the top 50 in Belgium (46) and Sweden (49). On the Eurochart Hot 100, "Fairytales" peaked at number 85 in March 1996. Outside Europe, it was a number one hit for one week in Israel. A computer generated music video was produced to promote the single, directed by Ben Liebrand.
Lindsay van der Eng, known professionally as DJKorsakoff, is a Dutch disc jockey and producer of hardcore techno and gabber. She is one of the most recognized producers of the gabber scene mixing in the most prestigious parties, in particular Masters of Hardcore.
