The Committee on Justice (Dutch : Commissie voor de Justitie, French : Commission de la Justice) is a standing committee of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives. It is responsible for all matters related to the administration of justice. The committee consists of 17 members and is currently chaired by Claude Eerdekens (PS). The seats on the committee are divided among CD&V/N-VA (4 seats), MR (3 seats), PS (2 seats), Open Flemish Liberals and Democrats (2 seats), Vlaams Belang (2 seats), SP.A-Spirit (2 seats), Ecolo-Groen! (1 seat) and CDH (1 seat).

The Radical Party of the Left is a social-liberal political party in France. A party in the Radical tradition, since 1972 the PRG has been a close ally of the major party of the centre-left in France, the Socialist Party. After the 2017 presidential and legislative elections, negotiations to merge the PRG with the Radical Party began and the refounding congress to reunite the parties into the Radical Movement was held on 9 and 10 December 2017. However, a faction of ex-PRG members, including its last president Sylvia Pinel, split from the Radical Movement in February 2019 due to its expected alliance with La République En Marche in the European elections and resurrected the PRG.

This last election was held in the more than 3,000 parishes around the country. In the 2017 election, 13.3 percent of incumbent mayors, 41 to be precise, were barred from running for another term.

All 230 seats to the Assembly of the Republic were up for election. The elections were called in November 2023 after Prime Minister António Costa's resignation following an investigation around alleged corruption involving the award of contracts for lithium and hydrogen businesses.
Catarina Teresa Rola Sarmento e Castro is a Portuguese jurist and politician. As a member of the Portuguese Socialist Party (PS), she became a deputy in the Portuguese Assembly of the Republic in the January 2022 Portuguese legislative election, representing Leiria. Between 2019 and 2022 she served as Secretary of State for Human Resources and Former Combatants. A professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Coimbra, she has also served as a judge in the Constitutional Court. She was appointed Minister of Justice in March 2022, following the 2022 Portuguese legislative election, when the PS won an overall majority, but lost the position after the March 2024 elelction, when the PS was defeated and the Democratic Alliance formed the government.
