Ben O'Connor (born 21 December 1988) is a British ice hockey player who currently plays for Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) side Guildford Flames. [1]

O'Connor most recently played for Erste Liga side HSC Csíkszereda and he also plays for the British national team. [2]

He represented Great Britain at the 2019 IIHF World Championship, 2021 IIHF World Championship and 2022 IIHF World Championship. [3] [4]

After leaving the Sheffield Steelers in 2020, O'Connor moved to NIHL side Sheffield Steeldogs. [5] The move came after the 2020-21 Elite League season was suspended indefinitely due to ongoing coronavirus restrictions. [6]

In August 2021, O'Connor signed terms with EIHL side Cardiff Devils. [7] He departed Cardiff in December 2021. [8] He later joined Romanian side HSC Csíkszereda.

In July 2022, O'Connor returned to the EIHL to sign for Guildford Flames. [9]

Ben Bowns is a professional British ice hockey goaltender for UK Elite Ice Hockey League side Cardiff Devils and the Great Britain national team.

The 2017–18 EIHL season was the 15th season of the Elite Ice Hockey League. The regular season commenced on 9 September 2017 and ended on 25 March 2018. The reigning league champions were the Cardiff Devils, who won the championship for the first time in 2016–17. The Devils retained their regular season title, with a 3–2 victory away at the Belfast Giants on 16 March 2018. The Devils also won the playoff title, beating the Sheffield Steelers – who had defeated the Devils 12 months prior in a 6–5 double overtime game – 3–1 in the final, winning a first playoff title since 1998–99.

The 2021–22 EIHL season was the 18th season of the Elite Ice Hockey League. The previous campaign in 2020–21 was suspended indefinitely in September 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom; a reduced Elite Series was held in April and May 2021, involving the Sheffield Steelers, the Nottingham Panthers, the Coventry Blaze and the Manchester Storm, to provide competitive ice time for players ahead of the 2021 IIHF World Championship.
